The squad is capable of fighting on all
remaining fronts, but ONLY IF the manager
gives the hairdryer treatment to certain
squad players who have not been fronting up.

The FA Cup draw has been kinder to us
than for others, so it will be insulting not to
take that gift by players not putting in a
shift in these coming games to get to the SFs.

So would you be happy with the FA Cup, reaching the CL semi's(big achievement for Spurs) and a 5th place finish?
    Silverware or top 4 basically?

Being in the CL next season (I will tolerate not winning it this
season - under duress though - if a PL top 4 place is achieved
come May ;) ) is most important to the club.

More so with new WHL coming online.

So any outcome that does not include the above, will not
be acceptable to me this season.

TBH I can't really agree on all fronts.. i mean city couldn't.

You are super dependent on the key players like kane, alderweireld and Erikson. Great players all obviously. Same as us. we depend on 3/4 players and the rest come in and out. we are even more dependant not coutinho has gone.

So yeah you should be well able despite your teams attempts to **** it up get to Fa cup latter stages and now city are out you are easily compettive with utd and chelsea and should be joint favs.

mate. you've no more a chance of wining CL than us.. which is no ****ing chance <laugh>

Being in CL isn't the be all and end all its a step to winning things. the big one. but seriously... when both our grounds are finsihed and 60 odd and we realise that puts us level with arsenal and still i nthe same dog fight using tv money to make footballers and agents rich.... ell success will be determined by who pays most.

    And thats city and utd.

Cheslea won't admit they are no longer competitive... #worryingtimes.

I said all REMAINING fronts. Which means :

    - PL placing 2-4
    - FA Cup
    - CL

Spurs finished PL top 4 + FA Cup SF last season,
and the opportunity for that lower bound is here again.

Repeating that + the current CL campaign represents
material improvement from last season. Getting to
the FA Cup final is even more improvement.
Similarly with progression in the CL.

So, the FA cup is due to be further devalued by the 5th round taking place entirely in midweek with no replays. The 'best cup competition in the world'
bollocks and the 'magic of the cup' is starting to wear pretty thin. <whistle>

No chance this season is being Arsenal.

Another part of the current fun of being a Spurs
supporter is consistently fighting (and bettering)
PL clubs with far greater financial resources than us.

When financial parity is achieved (new WHL etc) ,
then the judgement will come down to purely on-pitch
performance. Unfortunately, not many PL clubs will
ever have that luxury, so the Leicester "black swan"
event is the best they can ever hope for. :(

    Indeed.

The FA Cup 3pm KO on Saturdays + replays
midweek soul has been well and truly sold by
the FA. The only "magic" that remains for me is
that tomorrow Rochdale are only 3 games away
    from the final.

You really think financial parity for either of us comes with a stadium of 63k?

neither of us will ever pay a barca reject and arsenal flop 500k per week to stop them going to city.

We pay 180k to vvd. we should top 200k to someone at some point.

You are on 120k or so to kane?

Financial parity might be paying 200k like arsenal or cheslea can but the two manchester clubs are just blowing the wages to hell. thye can pay 500mil in transfers if they feel like it.

IMO its about being there or there abouts when the wheels comes off these clubs every 3/4 years and snapping up the opportunity.... but its bloody hard to be there and not winning and having every tom dick and spanish club sniffing round your players.

We both share those same issues.

    TBH I agree.

We are tearing the FA cup to shred and keeping the league cup for some bizarre reason.

Surely to align with europe the league cup shoudl be told to sink or swim on its own with no european place and give price of place to FA cup?

Like sorry but the league cup was third match of 3 this weekend. The first game all banter aside was a poor one but vital for spurs. it would be seen as the build up to the main event of the day..... a premier league match between Utd and cheslsea....

the league cup felt and after thought.

one of my favorite memories is 1992 fa cup final day.

I was only a kid and wasn't at the game but it was the whole build up for hours before and genuine excitement.

IMO that was all killed by sky tv and constant pushing of thier product to kill the free to air product.

never mind utd not playing one year. thats just banter. the cup was killed by sky tv imo over several years.

Now we have an fa cup with league matches going on around it. its not the final game of season. not the big show piece. its on at a time when fans leaving won't get a train home.

The league ran monday to thrusday this year with first fa cup fixture on bbc on friday.

Again clearly no build up to fa cup 3rd round. all about the prem and sky.

I think your owners are more affluent than you think, they just don't want to spend the extra money that might have actually won Spurs some silverware, celebrating the net spend is celebrating the mingebag ways of your tightwad owners.
I'm not advocating spending money for the sake of it btw.

    It gets you closer.

And if a club gets so far already with what they
have, think of what may be done with the extra
    money.
