Hope so, but just in case I've a flight booked for Finland. If the snow allows it, I'll be in a barren wilderness, one mile from Russia's boarder, and if we lose hopefully I have no way of finding out!

Have a bit of money atm and as my old one seems to be on the brink i decided to treat myself to a new phone off Amazon on their next day service.
Was excited until i got the Email through saying my new expensive phone is being delivered through ****ing Hermes. When i see that i just know it's going to be delivered to the bin or something stupid.

And naturally today i am emailing them saying it didn't turn up on Saturday and has just shown as "due for delivery today" since Saturday on the tracker so there must be a problem. Just got a reply saying the tracker hasn't changed since Saturday so there must be a problem. they will look into it and get back to me within 48 hours -_-

Don't know if anyone else has used them but they are easily the worst delivery company I've ever used.
    ****ing Hermes.

Not used them myself. But have exclusively heard from others that they are useless.

Hermes are dreadful. As you say as soon as you know it's a Hermes delivery expect trouble.
We were lucky for a few years as I knew our local Hermes driver so we didn't experience any of the horror stories.
However since he left 2 or so years ago it's been nothing but problems with them. Several broken parcels due to them throwing them over our back fence and parcels left in the middle of our driveway completely visible from a busy road.
I'm sure most delivery companies have problems but Hermes seem the worst by a long way.

"In some myths Hermes is also depicted as a trickster where he would outwit the gods either for the good of humankind or for his own personal amusement and satisfaction."

There's your answer, they're just doing it for a laugh.

The "self employed" delivery people they erm, don't?, employ are on such fine margins that throwing your parcel vaguely at your house has been common for some time. I'm lucky as having defended the local Hermes courier from a torrent of abuse some time ago I get a superb service now.

Strangely the Royal Mail have decided our waste bins are suitable places to leave mail recently, trust me they are not.

My local Hermes guy is great, but then again I personally established with him a safe place to leave stuff. A friend delivers for them and he's also pretty switched on and conscientious but I do think that's the exception rather than the rule. They do get paid a pittance per parcel though so I'm not surprised people get such bad service from them, especially on rural routes that cost a lot in diesel as the deliveries can be widely spread out

My local Hermes driver is excellent and the best one who delivers here. Pot luck I guess.

Just back from Sutton. Nothing here in Poole, but parts of the M3 were nearly impassable for 5-10 miles, then bright sunshine for the next. At one point I was driving in the tracks of others, then 30 mins later had sunglasses on and all dry. Weird, weird 3 ½ hour drive

It snowed quite heavily for about 20 mins in Southampton earlier. Had about half an inch of snow!
