If they had kept whay\t they had sold they would be in the champions league instead of Liverpool. Not seen a player of ours as good as any of those they have produced and kept never mind those they have sold on....Care to name one?
Playing second fiddle to felix wtf,no wonder he left if thats what the club thaught of him,and i don't blame him
No solution. But Rad needs to stop the pr bollix and we should stop kidding ourselves he is the new messiah. This business model is all about creaming the club for profit and not about improving the first team.
About the Orta comments does anyone have a source? I expect they are true but would be good to be sure. Assuming they are true they are ****ing disturbing beyond belief. Unless you are a friggin idiot you only say that for a very good reason, which is to prepare fans for the sad fact it’s going to happen. Correction, you also would say it to put them ‘in the shop window’ . So I have to conclude either - they have already got a strong steer from player/agent that they’ll want to go or even worse they have decided to sell them as our most marketable commodities. In either case it reflects badly on Orta /Rad - if it’s player driven it still means we are not really motivated to build a team capable of playing in the Prem, you would identify those players and pay them enough to keep them. Unlike the view Glory puts out that our players are a pile of Shiite, in fact Sais, Pontus, PML and (potentially) Vieira could play at a higher level. Add 3 or 4 of the same quality to this squad and I think we would be favourites next season
When I suggested Saiz was planning on leaving us to go to Sevilla in January it was based on information received. I believed it to be true and I still believe it to be true. They didn’t raise the funds in time but will be back in the summer. Pontus will end up at a Burnley or Other bottom third prem club. Lasogga is going have to take a 60% pay cut before he is worth a punt. Ortas comments are widely reported and all they do is confirm what Rads project just like Cellinos is all about. If we find a gem enjoy them while you can they won’t be here long.
It looks like that is right. It means promotion is unlikely, as the clubs that go up tend to spend and retain. I remain surprised, given the riches that are thrown at teams who reach the Prem, that yet again we have an owner who is content to stay where we are
I do not agree with your premise, as stated by your good-self, that "we have an owner who is content to stay where we are". We would do well to retain the services of our best players but their freedom to choose an employer , especially one who is going to pay more, can't be overlooked, is this the choice of our owner?, I suspect not.
At the end of the day Barca couldn’t stop Neymar moving to PSG, Coutinho forced through his move from Liverpool to Barca and Spurs had to sell Walker to Man City. All Orta has actually done is confirm it is a fact of life in modern day football. As far as I can see, the club can only really do three things. Tell the players they want to keep them, maximise the price (at least we wouldn’t be selling at the end of contracts for a change) and reinvest aggressively. If or When Saiz goes, if we got top dollar and spent it on Bentley and Woods from Brentford for example, it wouldn’t stop me getting another Season Ticket and, I believe we could even be stronger for it. This is just an example but it is this third bit that would be the true mark of Rads’ ownership for me. Maddison at Norwich, Jota at Brum, the ginger lad at Sheffield United, etc, there are loads of good Championship players out there but each would cost decent money and would soften the blow of Saiz going, please though, no more Grots or Weidwalds.
I agree if course you can’t stop a player determined to move on. But we’ve had so many situations in the last 10 years where it seemed much more the club wanted to sell In this case I accept Rad has appeared to be better than previous owners. I’m not certain he’s selling to get the cash, I do think if we let these players, without - genuinely - as good lined up to then he us guilty of a lack of ambition. That may be forced lack of ambition due to his relatively modest financial resources, I don’t care why tbh. If you believe in what we are doing you take another look at pay scales and find a way to pay closer to outside options. You add to that a momentum about bringing in 3-4 good players to genuinely strengthen the squad, then persuade the current ones to stay as promotion to the prem looks more realistic Ok I know some will leave whatever, I get that, but a limp wristed ‘oooh we can’t stop them’ is the cry of a leadership who have settled for mediocrity
What a load of crap you post at times, last season it was Jannson had signed for Southampton,we aren't interested in things you dream up in your sleep, and this **** talk damages the club, show 1 shread of proof he's going to Seville,I bet you can't.
Don’t tell me you’re Glory as well I rely on phone to punctuate and spell, I only proof read for really bad mistakes
