I lived across the road from and went to school with Mike and Steve Gatting. My grandparents lived about 10 houses from Mick Jones in Kensal Rise, I saw him around a fair bit. Too star struck to ever say anything to him. I knew John Lydon's brother, Jimmy, back in the day when he fronted the 4" Be 2"s. Top man.

I was behind Geoff Hurst at the bar at Wembley Stadium [1981 Cup Final replay] it was shortly after he was sacked as Chelsea manager. I offered to buy him a pint. He bought me one. Seemed a really nice fella. England's hat-trick hero bought me a pint at the stadium where he made history. I think that I'll have that on my headstone when I go.

I once had a drunken singsong with Tom Jones after England beat Wales at Cardiff Arms Park.
Top bloke and drinker - and he even sang the rude rugby version of Delilah

I've met loads of famous people during my life, I've even sat in the board room at Tottenham! But if i had to name one of the most influential, it would be Martin Luther King - Long story and I'm not going into it, but met him at the Lorraine Motel, some of you may need to go away and do your history on that one. Probably one of the most unexpected memories that will live with me forever, aside from actually touching the Enola Gay when it was in Washington, but that was planned. Both events leaving thought provoking memories.

I’m not. It’s just the sort of thing he’d say. Had to check who posted it after reading it.
