Yes i do, you genius you! <ok>

but you still need to defend a bit. AND klopp bought VVD so the idiotic mistakes are lessening... well robertson has helped that too.

I never said you don't have to defend, just that 3-2 gets you as many points as 1-0.
There are 2 ways to win - one is a lot more fun than the other.

    fair enough.

As i said at the time houllier following evans pretty but undisciplined and uncaring players was pretty good and the club needed it. Success was great but after the 2001/2002 time frame it got worse and ground down.

I thought rafa was just as much of a grinder as houllier.

    but how and ever....

    There's style
    There's substance
    There's style and substance

In the short term yes a battling 1-0 is good. But not regularly, defensive boring football is not why I watch the game.

wins a win but grinding is not entertainment.

Not every game is a classic.

its a competitive sport which demands results and its an entertainment form that demands style. one without the other is failure.

ergo mourinho is failing utd fans

pulis has failed every club he's managed in the end. short term he did x and y and got them results but its a total grind and killer and every club ends up in the same **** anyway.

Obviously Maureen delivers, no one can argue with that.

Some clubs' supporters, and even owners, just won't accept dire football regardless of results.
I am not an ends justifies the means sort, it has to be watchable for me, trophies in the end have no bearing on my enjoyment of watching football bar the end of a cup or league win game that decided it, other than that, it's of 0 worth to me, extremely transient joy. <ok>

Dire 1750s football should be the domain of lesser teams dealing with more talented opposition

imo ManU fans were prepped for Maureen's 1750s football through the tenures of Moyes and LVG <laugh>

This is the point for me - you play like this when you have to, it shouldn't be the preferred M.O.

Everton manager Sam Allardyce says the club's signings over the past two transfer windows are not providing value for money. (Liverpool Echo)

and that's why he gets paid the big bucks...

Good point. I think they feel they have to. After the dire reigns of Moyes and Van Gaal, they’ll see Mourinho as an improvement. And Mourinho must feel that the end justifies the means.

He was a man I thought could galvanise the side. Make us difficult to beat.

But it appears he has no say on transfers, sooner he is gone in May the better.

Maybe if Wilshire had spent more time exerting himself than whinging and whining at the ref.....

That's the problem with Arsenal their entire team makes our midfield look like men....manly men.....
