LB as far as I'm concerned.
Does anyone believe Garth actually watches all the games before he makes his selection?
Maybe highlights, but we all know they only tell part of a story. He just picks some of the stand out performers and tries to shoe-horn them into a formation that bears little resemblance to reality.
    Money for nothing.

No doubt you're too young to know why Everton got their nickname "the school of science", they weren't overly successful but they were very entertaining and the Goodison faithful were extremely satisfied.
Obviously supporters are not happy to end the season without a trophy, but if you've been entertained by your team's football it eases the pain somewhat and not many will have been as entertained as us.:emoticon-0105-wink:

I honestly think he's making everything up to do the minimum to get paid.

he'#s prob got about 10 different things bbc ask him to do and he phones this in.

I think he actually just picks goals and assists off a list.

How on EARTH bravo made that team i don't know. the guy did nothing and still looked shaky.

Tbf, it's probably going to be De Gea most weeks in that position - it's just that he cocked-up yesterday.

It's just that it's Garth. What I meant was he probably has De Gea in there permanently but because he screwed up there had to be someone else.
It was probably just the first name that came into his head.

This is frequently my argument on here.
I want to watch good, entertaining football - not be bored ****less all the time by negativity. I get accused of not caring about winning by those who seem incapable of realising you can actually play well and win at the same time.

Agree, while winning is good as an end, the means matters to me.

I can't enjoy the success of winning, on my recliner, having taken no part in achieving success<laugh> but I do love watching good attacking football, that is my spectator's perspective.

If Maureen can't deliver both, then fair enough, but I don't want a return to the Houllier days

houllier was great at the time....

    looking back not so much.

    It was good team though.

hyppia and gerrard, hamann, owen, heskey before he slowed up.

IMO since mcmanaman left til coutinho/suarez we have lacks what I'd call.... real inspiration.

looking back on all the teams Partick berger was one who has a little x factor. but then we had smicer and kewell and the like and that spark of creativity just was not there.

Even rafa didn't have it. HE had the defence, the midfield platform and he had torres but with rieria and kuyt would couldn't call it creative.

I really appreciate the impact of suarez, coutinho and this year firmino and salah especially. These guys give you that something special that makes you want to watch.

I can say this hand on heart: spurs don't have it. Utd don't have it and mourinho actively gets rid of it. Cheslea have not got it any more. City have it in spades.

City and liverpool are the sides that provide that... and niether imo are the best defensively.

I have watched us play some beautiful football over the years as well as backs to the wall scrapping for survival.

Happily take 1-0 football, it’s about wins.....if we play well and get beat 1-0 I can tell you I am less happy than with a battling 1-0

Remember the article I wrote last year that showed that high-scoring sides with relatively poor defences won the league more often than vice-versa?
And despite the fact that the figures proved it there were so many who tried to dispute it because they just can't let go of their preconceptions. :)
