before Mon game i would be 100% behind you but now with players coming back 10-12 th is more than poss
I agree I think we will do better - but am still in recovery from the snake so until we are safe that is all I crave.
With 10 games left Walter got 9 more points, all of them in the next four games. Quique got 8 more points. In the corresponding final matches Walter got 14 points and Quique got 11 points. With Walter we dropped 3 places by the end of the season. With Quique it was one place. The bottom three at this stage in the last two seasons have been relegated. This season is very different, of course. A bad run in by any of the bottom 11 could result in relegation. There are also a lot more teams playing with fear of relegation which should, one would assume, help their motivation.
I think 7th is a target... but we have to win several for that... and we look as fragile as other teams at times.... we could haver lost against everton they did have two great chances.... it turns on the chances..
My comment was mostly tongue in cheek.. I would be delighted if we achieve 10th. It is just that we are only one win behind Leicester and Everton and still have Burnley to play at home so anything is possible. However we have four very tough away games left where we will be lucky to pick up a single point..
So were mine King Arthur, but if we aim for 6th and finish 9th or 10th, not a bad season Aim for 10th and finish 17th or 16th, no better than last year Holebas is right, with our squad and the start we had, we should be up there with Arsenal at least Why do we have to think we are what the media want us to be, a small club being lucky
You should have said a small club being unlucky we have had our midfield ripped out losing Nathan Tom and Will Losing one ok 2 bad luck but all 3 And we are still 10th .But please think back before sat we was looking down and the big man (at least he thinks he is) Mark law was having us to go down LMAO but now everyone is talking about 6th not 16th
Brian Under Silva we threw away 16 points from winning positions in six games, we should have got at lease 9 points from those games which would give us 42 points and we play Arsenal in two weeks time 6th place should have been a realistic option now but for those last minute disasters, even with our injury list With Deeney back firing and Okaka back in the team, and the likes Cleverley and Hughes back in contention we should only be looking up to see how high we can finish and not even thinking about relegation
We have five home games left. An argument can be made that we should win each of them. Four are below us and Burnley are poor travellers. We have five away games left. An argument can be made that we should lose at least four as they are all in the top six. The other - Huddersfield could go any which way - let's imagine a draw. If that happened and we got 16 points we would be on 49 points. I would estimate that would put us between 7th and 9th. It all has to go badly wrong now for us to be relegated.
I agree Arthur we should all be more optimistic We are in the best place we have ever been in with our owners, ground and squad I thought 1977 to 1987 were the pinnacle of what Watford could achieve and I loved every minute of them But, I think our future now could be even better
I think that the period after Silva was approached by Everton up to his departure knocked the stuffing out of us somewhat. We started the season with a manager who really seemed the real deal. Then the fall was earlier and steeper that QSFand Mazz produced. It will take us to get to 36 or 38 points for us to stop looking behind. On the rest I totally agree. The club is in better shape than ever - great owners, great ground and squad. Like you I did not think the decade to 1987 could be bettered - but it has.
we should always look forward with hope and ambition,, and backwards with affection and appreciation of what was achieved
Very true, but the trap door makes you glance back now and again whilst looking at the table. It is a real threat.
Being a Watford fan has always been "shoulder coulder woulder" as the saying goes get us to 38pts as soon as poss then see how high we can go as every manager will tell you one game at a time
Going on the last two seasons we should expect about 10 more points from the teams we are yet to play this season.. In terms of the last 9 games we should expect about 7 points.
we now have 4 home games that are very winnable and away from home we have Arsenal and Huddersfield which are potential wins 18 points up for grabs and with the current team spirit, very achievable
