We were ****ing awful. If we can't even turn up for a cup final then what's the point ? This team has zero confidence and doesn't seem to know what to do to turn it around. It has to come down to the manager in the end. If he can't motivate his players for a cup final, then he's no longer any good as the manager.
Must be so frustrating being a gooner, club in disarray, management well past its sell by date, 2nd consecutive season out of the cl, and not even competing in a cup final. Haha
It is really frustrating and quite depressing. Losing to city today isn't a huge surprise, they are a great side. But the way in which we lost it was unacceptable. The players just didn't turn up and it's indicative of how the club is at the moment. No leaders, no confidence, no backbone and no idea.
Spineless shambles. Too many players that just aren't up to it and are getting paid lots of money for very little application. What the **** is Xhaka even supposed to be?
Yeah we're ****. No cohesion whatsoever and nobody seems to know what they should be doing. It's almost like Wenger just leaves them to get on with it and when it goes wrong, everybody just looks around at each other but nobody has any answers.
Thursday is now a massive game for you and not in terms of the result. Losing to City isn't the end of the world, by any means, as they're a very, very good side. If you fail to turn up for another game against them though, then I think there'll be a massive backlash. Not being good enough is one thing. Not trying hard enough is another. Unacceptable.
Totally agree. There's no shame losing to City. But the performance today (and it's not just today) was shameful.
You need a proper midfielder. Someone like William Carvalho - who is for sale as the Spammers nearly bought him. I wanted him him at Liverpool. Big strong black dude. No nonsense DM. There are plenty of others it's just he sprung to mind. Basically you need someone with a pair of bollocks in midfield. Been so obvious for years now. Wenger will buy another AM instead though.
