Six points clear of the relegation spots, up to tenth in the table - and above Bournemouth. What's not to like?
Have a good weekend all. Who cares it was a dodgy performance 3 points was vital. Credit to Gracia for the subs.
I cannot listen and comment at the same time when using my tablet. It really did seem a game with two sides lacking in confidence. Still as others have said the three points are very welcome.
Well they seemed to be quite happy to defend and not really attack us whilst we lacked any real cutting edge until Okaka and Femenia came on. Took a decent strike from Deeney to win the game. Was an average game but most games with Big Sam in probably are....and the 3 points is all important.
I have an irrational hatred of Everton. I lost my **** when we scored. Truth. Big, big win. Win next Saturday should do it.
Is anyone else concerned with the dire football we are playing? Chelsea aside none of the games we have played under Garcia have been scintillating. A win is nice and safety will be nicer but I wonder how long people will put up with this kind of football.
Some of the people that wanted MS out will be saying that we are not playing nice football .We must give Javi time he is getting results with so many players missing .We are in a results business .I think we need anther 4or 5 points then Javi can start to plan for next year
It was a dog fight against a fat Sam spoiler team. Crucial 3 points and if we win next week the pressure will lift and we can look forward to more free flowing games but we are still in the midst of an injury crisis and so it's great to see the team committed and so deserved the 3 points.
Not really concerned NZ. Since Gracia came in we have won 2 drawn one and lost one in league matches - he was brought in for stability, and he appears to be providing that. He does not have a reputation for fast flowing football, but rather getting the job done with the materials at his disposal. With the mess that Silva left, Gracia seems the perfect fit.
I agree. For now survival is all I want. Once we are "safe" then I do not mind if he tries to bring in a better flowing football if he can. We now have the number of points that could in theory make us safe - another win and we will surely be OK
I think Gracia admitted he was looking for results over performances - well after all he probably knows looking flash but losing and getting relegation won't keep him in a job! TBF He went for an attacking approach with the team and subs going 2 up front plus brining on an attacking full back.
A point per game now would guarantee our safety but West Brom will have to beat us - that should affect tactical thinking for Gracia
