The reality is that the players we now have have always had that role. In the past their role was 'keep it solid, give the ball to Mane/Pelle/Lallana etc'. We now are left with the uninventive ones that Liverpool didn't want
Even without that goal, today was enough proof for me that we HAVE to start Gabbi and Carrillo from here on in. Ditch this, crappy, *****, one striker approach once and for all.
I didn't mind our stint in the Championship last time (because we did so damn well!) But the idea of going down with Gao at the helm makes me uncomfortable. Will he invest to bounce back? Or will he just asset-strip in frustration of losing over half the value of his 'investment' only 6 months after purchase.
