We need to pass it around on the ground quicker than we are doing with the team we have out. passing it back to the keeper then kicking it long is just going to lose us the ball. Be a bit braver.
The game seems very relaxed so far, almost like a friendly with nobody really trying very hard. Redmond has had a couple of good moments but pretty careless with his passing.
When we have played it forward quickly, they've done pretty well at intercepting the pass. We need to be patient, and when the chance comes, be clinical.
I'm not sure if it's a case of us needing to up our game. I'd say it's more just a typical match against Burnley. Poor quality on show, hard to break them down, and ultimately all about who takes that one chance in the 77th minute. We could try and go more attacking, but I'm not sure it would make much difference. (Which is why I wasn't against MP actually sending out a relatively defensive line-up for once, with PEH in there alongside Romeu and Lemina.)
I would like to see Lemina moving into a more advanced position to create more pressure on them when the ball is bouncing around that area of the pitch. Do we really need two defensive midfielders sitting just in front of the CBs against a team with the second worst goals for?
Very much so. Alas only time will tell if it's us or them who gets that goal. (But it's about time that it was us who got it. They've done it three times to us in recent times.)
I wasn't able to watch today courtesy of a hoard of children descending on Chez Bovril and Mrs Bovril giving me an unceremonious elbow out of the door, but I wasn't too upset. I felt it would be boring and that we'd only win it at the death but I can't recall such a small match day thread. Is it that bad?
Just tuned in, seen us give the ball away on the break instantly 5 times, going to watch the rugby instead.
