You finished 7th and only needed a bit of tweaking and a good manager. You signed 20 players and hired a ****e one. The ****e manager gets sacked and replaced by one managing a team with 1 win from 16 games. You now have a squad whose wages cost £7M more than last seasons (according to Radrizzani) with most of them on 4 year deals.
Maybe, Monk moved on and how did that turn out? As for four yer contracts as some one else said, it was to speculate. They will be on non-prohibitive wages across a longer term rather than double the amount over two. An obvious gamble that if they improve we sell at a big profit, if they don't we can still off-load as they won't be on high wages. For the cynics that say the Radz is creaming profits, it looks like we are going down the Southampton route (and Watford actually) of finding someone relatively unknown and sell for profit. Can work if used to invest in the team. Can't work forever as Southampton may just find out.
Not saying he didn't at all, but Id be worried if Green didn't think he could displace Felix. So as you say, he took the money to sit on the bench for udders, no problem with that, his choice
What I meant is he probably saw weildwald in training saw how **** he was then got told wiedwald was going to be no1. Thought stuff it crack on Leeds and he's been proved right. We must have some proper clowns at Leeds involved in scouting and coaching .
Dunno London like I said probably felt undermined. Green was pivotal in our good run second half of last season then told weildwald would be no1 what would you do?
I'd look at weildwald and think, this guy couldn't catch syphillis off a cheap hooker, I'll stick around and get my place back . Mind you I might not have been offered treble my wages from a new premier club.
Valid point suppose at greens age it was just too tempting. Could have gone the other way losslle gets injured for town and he'd have had to earn his wage but heyho you take your chance
No fingers of blame pointed at Green for the choice he took if it was for the money. Just saying would you run away from felix in a head-to-head battle for the no. 1 slot??
You must still be pissed from Wednesday's celebrations - that point has tipped you over the edge and into the net again
Good morning all. It’s going to be a good day today. I see Hull got out of the bottom 3 last night. I can see Birmingham drifting into the danger zone unless they can win their bottom of the table clash with Barnsley. A draw would help st Kraft one of their fellow strugglers who have an easy game today. I’m assuming PH will keep same back four despite de Bock having a nightmare against Derby - I guess Anita or Dallas if he decides de Bock needs some coaching before being risked again I’m expecting Phillips to start with Vieira on bench. If Pablo is injured then the last few positions will get interesting. I’m expecting Alioski and Sais are givens. I’d prefer Dallas to Roofe unless PH plays Roofe up front as a genuine part of a 2 man strike force. It’s tricky as he needs to ensure the team keep Brentford on the back foot as they can play. Have to say I’ve regained my interest with new manager and most players back from injury. Can’t wait to see line up and how we do.
well i have to say it's a nice day in Wakefield the sun is out and no overnight frost to de-ice on car.shouls be a good day to play so let's see if heckythump can get them going.if phillips starts i expect him to get at least a booking.dallas has always been a starter for meAlioski i can warm to as long as he tries to stay on his feet and him and spit cut out the imaginary card waving at the ref.in fact i don't do twitter so Elland can you put this question about cards to the q&a session on monday please as i see it's been done in a fixed way so the questions are selected beforehand,so not actually live is it ?.
I think the player we miss most is Antenucci, imo he's a better and more creative goal scorer than Wood, PSL and Roofe put together. Antenucci was agile, had pace and could lose his man to create his own goals, he didn't need the ball putting on his foot. Wood and PSL are very similar players, in that you had to put the ball on their foot or very close to them. Difference is, PSL is hard to mark out the game, while many teams worked out Wood was easy to mark out the game. When we had wood, we had low scoring games, normally one goal playing catch up, or one goal lead, and the opposition equalised or scored two. Similar situation at Burnley. I know some say "but he scored 28 goals", we didn't have many other contributors either. With Pablo, Saiz and Alioski, Wood would've been marked out the game, and wouldn't fit in with those 3. This season we have multiple goal scorers, and despite our loss of form periods, we have been scoring multiple goals. I'm with Doc, we need Klich along side Forshaw, but looks like that won't happen till next season, but I'm willing to bet, when he comes back, he'll prove a lot of people on here, and at the club wrong. For the record, Klich mentioned to the Dutch media that TC held a grudge against him, but wouldn't go into details. We have at moment 3 positions that are temporarilly being filled, a Keeper, a CM and a creative striker.
I agree Wakey, he causes a lot of fouls, and that makes him a liability, especially across and close to our penalty area. He leads the pack with 11 yellows in 30 appearances, closely followed by Jansson on 9, which, come to think of it, may be the reason Jansson ain't playing with as much aggression at moment as he did last season....
when is the cut off date for ten ? or is there not one.thing with phillips is he's clumsy and can't resist putting a foot in.
