Well it's the combination for sure but I think the defence is a bigger issue than some realise. We quite often manage to get a goal, very rarely keep clean sheets though. Off the top of my head, Palace, WBA, Swansea and United in the league all season?
Well yeah, but conceding due to the one inevitable clanger the defence still makes every week, wouldn't be half so costly if we had more than one (permanently injured) natural finisher in our squad. I mean, who is our leading scorer this season? Jack Stephens can't be far off, with about 3 or 4. Joking, I know it's probably still the permanently injured Austin. With about 3 or 4. And how many goals have we conceded after getting deeper, and deeper, and deeper trying to defend a lead? That's lack of confidence in our ability to go up the other end and score. Maybe if we could play West Brom or Watford every week though...
According to the premier league stat page our lead scorer is the injured Austin with 6 https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/goals?se=79&cl=20
I have hopes for today. Both teams are struggling, though Burnley have the magic points on the board. They have home advantage, but I feel our team have their tails in the air. This game could be all important.....though I reserve the right to claim it was only a game and others would be more important should we lose.
[QUOTE="fran-MLs little camera, post: 11488951, member: 1005831" I feel our team have their tails in the air. [/QUOTE] Is this a good thing? Genius thread, btw. I no longer care about any result as long as Laces keeps writing the match threads.
It’s been a while since we won 3-1 Carrillo to get 2 so that he can post on social media about “grabbing a brace”
Why can't this real life stuff be as easy as FM? Sign Moussa Dembele from Celtic and storm my way up to 5th in the league beating Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the process.
Maybe he's knuckled down well and responded positively to being dropped, and deserves a run out. I'm okay with that.
