They don't tend to score many, but they will cause us problems on set pieces. Need to try and not give too many away! Will be a tough game. Hopefully we can edge it!
my post was only in jest! I wasn't complaining, just a heartfelt longing for some goals. I too have been happy with his performances. Carillo
Exactly. Despite the fact that it feels to me (and I suspect everyone else on this forum) that we have hardly scored any goals and that the ones we've scored have only happened after a hatful of chances... actually there are 8 teams in the PL with a worse goals scored record than us. To misquote Bill Clinton: it's the defence, stupid.
It's going to be a dire game, lets get that out the way first. After WBA, matches against Burnley are inevitably the least attractive. But if we get the three points - and I really think we can get them - then it really doesn't matter.
3 points tomorrow would be a great catalyst to push on with this good run of games coming up and the Wigan match.
8 goals on our last two games against the Baggies.... must be expecting a thriller at the Burnley then
Burnley's pretty well our worst matchup below the top six: a team that likes to sit back, but is very capable of scoring on the counter from a small number of chances, and exploits defensive breakdowns very well. It's the league leaders in "we outplayed them, but they won" versus the league leaders in "they outplayed us, but we won". So it'll end 8-7 Saints because nothing is real anymore.
Matchday Great chance for a massive 3 points today against a team woefully out of form but really don't want a defeat here so let's not lose it. Attacking team please MP and go for it. Up the ****ing Saints
Suspect that Sims'll make the bench...... has been out injured for a long while and is getting up to 'full speed' in the U23's matches of late.
