Dan in your first post you clearly say that the League Cup is Mickey Mouse, that in my eyes means that you didn't mind us getting beat. I really don't care what the P/Boro fans do to their team, they are entitled to their opinions on their team. In my eyes any game we play in is important and we should play to win, whether it be a League or cup game. If we ever were in the position of fixture congestion, then yes play the kids and concentrate on what is important but it was the First round of the cup, we have not won a game yet this season therefore in my eyes it is important to get a win under our belts but if you don't want to take it seriously that is up to you.

Yes i do think the League cup is a Mickey Mouse cup when you compare it to the FA cup, and the Champions league and even the League itself. I would rather we won every game too, however i am not to saddened that we are out of the cup. However, if we lost to a team in the league (as we did against West ham and Derby) i am upset/disappointed. I am not saying that a loss was a good thing, but a loss in the cup is not the end of the world. The cup does not generate a fortune in revenue unless you get a big away fixture, all it does is tire the players out when we need to be focusing on the league this season. That is where the money lies for us, if we were to get relegated this season the club would be in dire straights and we may well see a fire sale as the revenues drop drastically. However, the fact that we are out of the cup means little, it might hurt the morale a little, but it allows us to come back stronger.

My point from earlier was simply that football fans these days seem to want the world, so much so that even after only their 2nd defeat in 6 games fans are booing the team the purport to love. This is sad in my opinion as you should never boo a team even if they lose badly. After the WH game, i stormed out of the ground and felt the i could cry or maybe even punch someone because we had lost so badly. However, i did not boo like a few of the other fans.

I love my team and i sing my heart out at every home game i can get to, and i voice my opinions and what i feel we are doing wrong to players during games. I take no pleasure in seeing Watford fc lose to any team.

Dan what morale? We have not won yet and we had the perfect opportunity to put that right on Tuesday night, if we had won that match our heads would have been up for Sunday and the Birmingham game. We got beat, morale is low, my point is if we had won that match we would not have been having this discussion.
You are entitled to your own opinions about Cup games whether it be League or otherwise but if we do not start winning and gaining momentum we just could be playing the in the JPT next season. I am not saying press the panic button but if a win doesn't come soon will we be able to get ourselves out of our current position.
We needed and need a win and going on Tuesday nights display and performance, not sure where it is going to come from. We need to spend money and as has been said on the striker thread we are not going to get a proven 20+ Championship goal scorer so where do we look when we are shopping at Lidl not Harrods.

Yes i agree that we needed a win and we still do. I also agree we have to spend some cash to get a 20 goal striker in and im sure we will.

However, my point was not about whether it was good or bad that we lost. It was that some people expect the world when it comes to their team. Let me put it to you this way; would you start slating the team if we were 6th in the championship after being promoted the season before and you lost 0-2 to a team which on paper is a better team?? I for one would not!!

I would not slate the team however as I said previously having won 7-1 the game before their expectations were high and expected more from their team on the night and you cannot allow for idiots:)

But thats my point, you would not boo your team. I find the fact that the Peterborough did just that sad. I know we can not allow for the minority and the idiots.

Well it is Friday here already, WO day. Seeing as the club seems to save some news most weeks for the paper, I wonder what it will be.

Harry the Hornet being head hunted by several Prem teams? The Red Lion to re-open as a betting shop? The groundsmen asking for better scissors? Sponsors sought to pay for refs eye-tests before each game? Mr. B enjoyed his holiday, feels refreshed, and is ready to personally lead the search for a new expensive striker? He also reveals that he has arranged a friendly against Iceland B?

I will go and sleep on it and wait to see which of the above it actually is. ;)

It will be interesting wont it OFH. I wonder if the club and WO will announce a new striker has signed?? I would happily book the ref an appointment at an opticians if it meant we would not be robbed by incompetent officials!!!
