Apparently, on BBC Wales Today News, Rob Howley was shown in a Press Briefing reporting that World Rugby has confirmed that the try should have been awarded.

Nevertheless, on the day, the better team won. <cheers>

Apparently in super slow motion it shows the Welsh winger touched the ball with his fingers before it hit his knee so should have been called for a knock on.....

    Just saying#

Guscott said the same on ScrumV on Sunday.

Presumably, World Rugby must disagree - they wouldn't have said the try should have been awarded if they had an easy get out of jail card like a knock-on.

Anyway, it's now purely academic. Whatever anyone now says or claims, the fact is that England won (deservedly so) and the result won't change.

Plus, if it had been given, Wales would still have been behind with no guarantee of the conversion going over from out wide (with no Halfpenny).

All ifs, buts and maybes <cheers>

A Wales try could have spurred England into action, or it could have encouraged Wales to believe.

The whole dynamic of the game would have changed.

As I said it's all pretty academic - the VI Nations table won't change.

England can still win the Triple Crown and Grand Slam - Wales can't.

I guess we will just have to knock you out of the World Cup next year ..... again <laugh>

I know **** all about rugby, someone who knows please tell me England are going to win tomorrow - going to a pals house to watch the game (or is it match or test?) and will be out-numbered at least 10-1 by Scots baying for English blood - could make for an interesting day, especially as the drinking will be well underway by the the time it all starts <cheers>

England should win, but the Scots can play and are good at home....not nailed on I’m afraid and it really will be hell if we lose.

They were not happy when England thrashed them last year and I was jumping up and down and yelling in their faces - would be good to repeat that! My pal is a huge rugby fan so it really winds him up - he had to explain the rules to me (it's not a simple game to follow, is it?) then sit there whilst England scored try after try <laugh><laugh> was even funnier when they thought Scotland had beaten England in the World Cup qualifiers, all dancing and jeering in my face, then Kane scored a last minute equaliser <laugh><laugh><laugh>

Celebrate excessively with every point for England. The rules are complicated, especially around the scrum and the breakdown. I have to get my son, who actually played, to explain them to me. The ref is even more important than in football, they can make or break a game.

Coming up a complete blank on motivation to watch France/Italy. Except I like the Irish coach for Italy.

My son just popped in to drop off a bottle of Baileys for my daughters 18th birthday present (classy round here - she requested it). He sees no way that England will lose. And he follows his maternal Welsh line in rugby - also said England were clearly the better team against Wales, when I reminded him of that result.

Italy concede early but hit back with a penalty try to lead 7-5. Could be a free-scoring match if France can't contain Italy's maul...

I'll be rooting for you tomorrow. Unfortunately it coincides with our game - might be tough leaving the pub.
