I'm sure there are other firms at Stoke these days, there probably just alot smaller. I went to Stoke a few times in the 80s and 90s and it was a very hostile atmosphere I've got to say. Port Vale down the road was just as intimidating to be fair though, it must be something about the area.
Way of the world now mate. I seen 2 16/17 year old lads square up against each other a few months ago. One says I do boxing 3 times a week. The other says "OK you can have me" meaning you can beat me. Funny thing I know the boxer and my 14 year old hammered him for getting mouthy to my Mrs. In my day I remember turning up to my karate class and two green belts giving it large. I was new so after the class they thought they could bully me outside. Let's just say they thought wrong
I'm agreeing with you mate. What I'm saying is the new gen hold that stuff as if the guy is invincible because he learnt boxing or something. You know that it means **** all and I agree
No denying our mentality and how crazy our lot can be but ultimately a vast number of Russian/ Eastern European firms are trained in combat sports, it's probably not even an exaggeration to say all are, or at least many of their top firms anyway. It's not all necessarily MMA, they have boxers and many train in combat sambo, too, add in that Russia is pretty similar to the US with regards to freestyle wrestling and so that always gives the average Russian a starting base. Ultimately crazy/ nutter vs crazy trained nutter will likely end up in a win for the latter, we'd no doubt cause considerable damage but I'd always put my money on a Russian firm to come out top in the end.
I don't think so. The Russians won't want anything going off on their own turf, with the whole world watching. All the top boys in the Russian firms will be rounded up and put away on remand until the tournament is over, and the police presence will be massive. In fact, if England fans have anything to fear, it'll be from the goon squad coppers. Not a good idea to get pissed up and start slinging chairs about in town squares.
Upton Park was the scariest. There wasn't any trouble but there were human pit bull terriers all over the shop. I really wouldn't have wanted to see them get wound up! To be fair though, being a Watford fan was good as nobody was that bothered about us so you could watch the game and get out relatively safely.
Walking back to the tube surrounded by police, with them singing "You'll never make the station" (the W Ham fans, not the police)
