Apprantley they were trying to say he was just writing something on the yellow card but that is probably just an excuse.

Red card tackle all day long, whichever card he had in his hand, any pitch, any level. Not malicious(had he kept his leg straight I might think otherwise), but certainly excessive force and endangering an opponent.

Fair enough Fez. Back in my day it wasn't even a foul today's crowd roll around in agony if you just flick a lock of their hair

Yes - I did think it was a red card anyway.

Read Palace have no fit keepers for their game v Spurs at the weekend.

Seems like they are struggling with injuries.

More importantly, Boreham Wood are 1 up too - and sitting in second spot in the National League table.

    Our new local derby?

I think I jinxed Boreham Wood - a 92nd minute equaliser for Aldershot against Bromley has seen them go second on goal difference.

And now a last minute winner for Sutton has seen them go second - Wood fourth...

    It's tight in that league.

And 3 or 4 at the other end too - in danger of relegation.

Shame really - I used to like trips to Barrow and Hartlepool. Was never fussed on Torquay for some reason though.

I remember going to Aldershot FC many years ago, 1960 I think. Great atmosphere with 9,000 in the ground. After the club went bust I met a guy in the south of France on holiday, and he was one of the fans trying to get the club back on it's feet. It might take 10 years he thought, but his devotion to the cause was great. His hopes came about, and they clawed their way into Division 2 for five years, before slipping back.
It is the little clubs and their true fans I admire as they struggle to keep a dream alive.

Aren't search engines wonderful? I was doing some school-related research last night and this popped up for some unknown reason - https://thewashbag.com/2012/05/08/going-up-196869-league-and-cup-success/#comments

I was about to ignore it when I noticed the season - so opened and read it.

Very interesting - especially towards the end when Watford get a mention. I'm sure I was one of the fans mentioned too...

Swindon beat Arsenal of course to win the League Cup - just think of the reaction now on Arsenal TV for example if that happened!

I was at the match at Swindon. The crush was so great that they let children sit by the pitch. I was about where the penalty box joins the goal line. There were so many people between me and the goal I couldn't see Keith Eddy's missed penalty. There was also so much noise that I din't know who was cheering either - our fans for the goal or their fans for the miss. From memory it was an evening kick-off because of the Grand National.

At the start of that season the games teacher at my school Mike (?) Barrett, who much preferred rugby, berated those of us that went to the Vic. He told us that if we had to watch 'soccer' we should go to see Arsenal or Spurs. It made promotion even sweeter.

Rather strange situation emerging in the Europa League. RB Leipzig already through and Red Bull Salzburg possibly also going through - very much of a grey area this as Leipzig play in the Red Bull Arena and are run by a spin off from the firm Red Bull. If there is no control over this then why should there be a problem about Watford and Udinese both qualifying for the same competition ?

If the cow was a Belted Galloway it is clearly a Dunfirmline supporter as they play in black and white stripes and are Queen' next opponents.
