Celtic flunk out of another European competition

 

Two huge issues for them.

1. They just can’t seem to be competitive away from home in Europe. Been years and still same issue no matter what comp.

2. Like some others in terrible leagues, they just don’t face good enough teams on a regular basis and don’t know how to compete with them.

 

That sounds like just one issue to me - they can't compete against big teams

Also don’t mind le arse so quite happy to see them get through and they are English
Wenger WAS one of the best managers so would be sad to see this
But the oppo manager is British so ....

Serious trouble in Bilbao this evening with the Russian gladiators as they call themselves running riot in street fights with the Athletic ultras. These Russian thugs are very muscle-bound and train in a military-style way. Their behaviour is in stark contrast to Appoel´s fans in the same city last year where some of their own fans pleaded for calmness whilst being goaded by Athletic´s 14 year old hoodies and completely encirled by the riot pólice.

I really could not care if Manchester United progress or not but they should considering the cost of their squad compared with Sevilla´s!!

 

There has been a death tonight in Bilbao amongst the fighting factions. If I had been in charge of policing the match, I would have sent all the Russian fans back on the first plane to Moscow because these guys arrived looking for trouble, and found it as the Basques are not reknowned for lying down quietly.

See one of the Russian hooligans that attacked fans last year has been arrested for attempted murder after they spent a year or so tracking him down.

Shocked by result a little. But they have a final at the weekend so will he their minds on winning a trophy.

Plus plenty of credit to Ostersund, I can’t imagine it’s a great place for football, but I have spent a day skiing while travelling with Work, okay resort.

 

Yep!!! EUFA/UEFA really need to come down hard on clubs that cause trouble. Celtic and Barca get fined for making political statements, yet we have clubs in the former Yugoslavia, Turkey, some in Italy as well as Poland and Russia who have a large hooligan following and nothing is done. If Arsenal manage to get one of the two surviving Russian clubs, the Home Office needs to refuse entry visa to those Russian supporters, as do other countries that have clubs participating in the tournament.

 

I fear for the German fans most of all. The Russians really celebrate VE Day, and I fear they might want to re'enact the whole event.

 

I fear for fans from the African nations.

I don't actually think it will be that bad in places such as Moscow, St Petersburg etc. but I can serious problems in the smaller cities.

 

Don't forget the Poles, the Ruskies and the Poles despise eachother with a vengeance.
