I've seen a few "matronly" BA stewardesses
in that age range, and I think to myself that
given you probably worked in the golden age
of cabin crews, do you really love the job so
much now that you're still prepared to do it
in the age of ingrates and snowflakes as
    passengers ??

I wouldn’t choose American for a transatlantic flight, internals within the US no bother, but not for a flight of that length. BA have been overtaken by the Eastern brands in the premium sector in terms of the spec of their offering, but still take some beating for standard flights imo. Virgin are sound as well for crossing the pond.

Virgin for trans Atlantic is great, 10 hour flight to Vegas went in no time. American Airlines were crap, not the same entertainment available and didn’t provide food either. Hawaiian Airlines was good for the short hops but the 5 hour flight from mainland out there and back were boring

I use BA reasonably regularly for short haul and my only comment is that their fleet is showing it's age. The cabin crew are a little older than other airlines, but I think that's because of the benefits package BA used to offer.
The last transatlantic fight I had, was on Alitalia (I flew from Italy to the states) and that was excellent. Shame it went bust!
Will be heading off for a family holiday to the states later on in the year and am flying Virgin. I think they still offer a reasonable service.

If she'd died in the '50's he probably still wid.

I did a few jounts backwards and forwards during the late 80's and 90's, Continental mainly, though Virgin a couple of times. Both were much of a muchness really, food was edible, there was leg-room (6' 1") and we took off and landed without death or fire.

I flew Norwegian to Florida and it was ludicrous value but basically EasyJet for nine hours.

Bumped into a bird I was seeing and had “ghosted” a few months previously at the airport beforehand but no worries- big airport after all. Then saw her in the departure lounge. No worries- big old plane. Then she was in the row next to mine with her whole family giving me death stares and the boyfriend who looked eerily like me. Did not bang.

Flown Norwegian to Los Angeles and they were great. New planes with those optic dimmable windows, nice wide seats and a screen on the seat where you can order food and drink and swipe your card, basically a seat service at any time you want. Better than waiting for them to dish out 300 sweaty meals on a regular flight imo.

Possibly my favourite plane irritation are these twats in row 21 who have seen 20 rows ahead of them buy food and drink and then decide to have a flick through the menu to then order a coke and some Pringles like every other ****.

****s who jump up the second the seatbelt sign goes off too.

****s who cut the queue to get on a plane to get to their allocated seat a bit quicker.

**** kids on long haul flights. If you’re a **** parent then your **** kid doesn’t need to go anywhere. Good kids are fine. A baby does not need to be propelled into the sky in a metal tube ever.

    <rofl>

+1 for the people who jump the queue to try and get on the plane quicker. We ain't taking off until everybody is on board muthafucka.

+1 for the ****s who jump up and start pulling everything out of the overhead lockers as soon as the seat belt signs goes off

****s who choose a window seat for interesting flights (over the Rockies, Himalaya, Grand Canyon etc) and then close the blind and go to sleep.

Family members/friends who constantly chop and change seats and/or lean over the back of seats to talk to their mate 4 rows back.

Having flown dozens of times that list made me laugh but all very true. I love strolling on the plane near to last and thinking you mother fookers sorted now haha...teasing the barstewards that thought they had a spare window seat, then sticking down the blind to pisk them off <whistle>

And you ain't getting off til 20 mins
after everyone else cos your cabin
baggage is 30 rows further back from
    your seat.

That's why it's always good to put your cabin luggage above your seat mate.
    Basic stuff really <ok>

But you don't get to do that, cos all the
people who were in the queue first and
    in your/neighbouring seat rows have
got their (usually rigid box <steam> )
cases in the lockers by/around your seat.

Can't say I've ever had to put my cabin luggage 30 rows away from my seat.
Are you sure the reason it's going wrong is not simply something to do with you ?

Even if that happened it’s more like five minutes than 20 and you get the benefit of sitting for half an hour rather than queuing like a **** with all the other queuing ****s before the flight.

I am always near the front of the queue,
so my baggage always is by my seat row.
Seen plenty of p*icks though who
swagger on last and then go drama
queen when their baggage has to be
placed down the other end of the plane
    (especially on smaller aircraft) .

I always swagger on last and have never had my baggage moved away from me, suppose it might happen with budget airlines <whistle>

And then i stroll off to, then when i get through customs my bag is waiting for me :)
