Anyone flown on United, Delta or American recently? Are they still as **** as they were 10 years ago when they were going bust or have they improved? How do they compare to BA (which I appreciate is also ****). They are noticeably cheaper. Hilary would have loved this thread. Can we let him back just for a couple of hours?
I flew Delta when I went (actually went not HIAG 'went') to Vegas. I ordered the Kosher meals, well better than the standard food. Flights were decent and the in-flight movies were all brand new. I changed in Liberty on the return leg, the pilot warned us of bad turbulence around NY about an hour after we left Vegas, so I was ****ting myself for a few hours all for nothing as it was a smooth flight the whole way.
I flew UA from LHR to SFO in 2009. Worst long-haul flight I had ever done in terms of in-flight entertainment systems. On that basis I would never use them again unless there was universal acclaim about how great their flights now are.
Don't EasyJet fly there? Get a microwaved burger for a fiver and rent some foam headphones to listen to some 80s pop. Get off the plane and you remain stuck in the seated position, walking around for a day looking like you've **** yourself.
You can fly cheap to USA now with Norwegian and WOW airlines. I’ve used both and they are great. New planes so nice and comfy and quicker than the old 747 jumbos.
went delta (i thought it was BA but they use delta i think?) when i went to NY in 2011. Flight was nice, films new, even had some real nice ice cream.
couldn't have been else i would have noticed. virgin stewardesses aren't bad and cathay often have nice ones. BA have the most horrendous ones.
United Airlines merged with Continental Airlines around about 10 years ago, I used to use Continental regularly back then and the standard up until the merger was good(not great), the standard after the merger was ****, I reached silver standard in frequent flyer miles and was treated like royalty by Continental but United Airlines never afforded me the same luxuries, membership to the frequent flyers club at their Newark and Houston Airports hubs and the free drinks and eats vanished.
Most of us just want reasonable in-flight food and entertainment, after comfortable seating, for longer distance journeys. The beauty of cabin crew faces, or the degree to which they pretend to love me, is of lesser importance IMHO. If anything, I try to be extremely courteous to them because I know for every one of me there is bound to be N c**ts on the same plane who will make their job an utter pain.
I used to travel to the US a lot, always on BA. At the time everyone bitched about how **** the US carriers were. From what I’ve heard BA have got ****ter but it seems they aren’t yet as **** as the US airlines!
it's true though, i don't think i've ever been on a BA flight where i've thought, yea she's in the wid/wid ye category or above and i've been on plenty
