Of all the weird formation **** we saw on Tuesday night, perhaps the worst decision of all was to bring on Grosicki in a central ‘number 10’ role. He sacked it off after about thirty seconds and got in the way of Diomande on the left. If Adkins starts the Pole there tomorrow then he can properly **** off.
Meyler's not the complete footballer, but he can't be accused of a lack of effort. Yes he plays online games. For a footballer it's a pretty good way for him to be spending his free time rather than out getting into trouble.
I dont mind admitting ive been a David Meyler fan over the years.but he's playing like he's half asleep this season.maybe he needs to get off the PlayStation and go for a walk or something.
Team news... Seb Larsson will hope to go straight back into Nigel Adkins’ starting eleven when the Tigers host Sheffield United on Friday night. Larsson has missed the last two games through suspension but returns to boost Adkins’ midfield options as he considers his team selection. “We have the opportunity to bring Seb back after his suspension, so he’s one under consideration,” said Adkins. “I’ve already said that Harry Wilson won’t be available for Friday night, and we’ll have to see where we go with Jarrod Bowen – it would be nice to think we could get him available but he hasn’t trained yet. We’ll have to wait and see. “There’s competition for places and that is the important thing.” Ondrej Mazuch has returned to training this week after a hamstring problem and could also be in contention for a place in the squad, although Friday night is likely to come too soon for Abel Hernandez after the striker played his first 55 minutes for six months when turning out for the U23s at the start of the week. “It was fantastic to see Abel back on the field and it’s a big lift for everybody. He’s been training, although he’s still a long way from the level that we know he is capable of,” continued Adkins. “To see him play 55 minutes was fantastic. He needs more minutes, but we know his quality so the sooner we can get him available the better.” Stephen Kingsley and Markus Henriksen remain unavailable as they work their way back towards fitness, while Moses Odubajo and James Weir are absent through injury.
So Bowen hasn't trained but is been considered to play ? I can see why but I hope there's no risk of a longer term absence through bringing him back too early Do we really have competition for places ?
As the match thread was up early, I won't bother with a team news thread, so here's a summary... Greggsy - Can't really understand why we've been so **** this season, we need to improve, Sheffield United are quite good, we'll try and beat them. Adkins - Grosicki isn't ready for 90 minutes, Bowen trained today and could be available, the lads have been great in training (nearly as good as they've been in warm-ups). Hernandez may be considered for the bench tomorrow, Kingsley's in a bit of pain after training needs to be managed.
Grosicki can’t be arsed to play 90. Wilson is crocked. Nigel wants the fans together, so protest together! Bowen ran around this morning might play.
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Nigel Adkins: "I'd appeal to everyone, don't come on the pitch. I can't see the benefit of that." #hcafc
