The attacker also has the advantage of multiple human shields or hostages being available I assume all teachers will also get a significant pay rise if they are now expected to run towards gunmen as a formal job duty?
A bolt action rifle can fire a round every 3 seconds with a cartridge (I do this monthly), so even such a weapon would have caused carnage in vegas EDIT Accurately every 3 seconds
If you are trained and practiced yes.. One shot every 3 seconds but from 200/300 yards is devastating but people can get to cover if they are not panicked. you should have 3/4 kills then they should be gone to ground. How brevik could do it is beyond me but he had all day to chase about picking targets. Contrast to every half second via trigger pull. that said 90% of these school and university killing are close quarters. inside. The most danger for police is longer range weapons and their own armaments are short range so have to close on suspects.
nope. why would they need to. its not like here where everything is a union job. they get a FREE gun to wear. maybe even a badge.. how cool is that
The fact that millions of people did not and do see how unsuitable Trump is as a president of the biggest so called democratic country and leader of the free world worries me. That he is an unthinking ****** is not his fault but how can any sane person be taken in by him?
I was accurate with a scope at 400 yards after a month, all you need is a bit of maths and to know your weapon. So I disagree. I could hit targets every 10 seconds at 300 yards with the .270 with moose rounds on my first try. Once you have the velocity, I was prone of course, free aiming is far more difficult. Even I could have caused carnage at that event. 50 deaths or 70 deaths, does it make a difference when talking gun control? No it doesn't as one is too many
So much for democracy is what you are saying? You don't like the orange moron so lets throw out democracy If the Democrats hadn't put their hopes on Killary Clinton (every ****ing bit as bad as Trump or worse) they might have got someone else in but what did they do, they rigged sanders out of the nomination, so who is really to blame for Trump?
There’s no comparison between a marksman rifle and a semi automatic assault rifle in terms of the devastation they can reek in a mass shooting scenario. The latter is always the weapon of choice for a reason fella. If it’s no longer on sale the tide starts to slowly turn.
Tobes the point was, if guns are bad and we want access restricted seriously, then lets talk about all guns, not the ones we don't like My point was also that if the issue is gun laws, then the difference between 40 and 70 people killed is irrelevant, as, as I said, one murder is one too many would anyone feel better if he used a bolt action and only killed 20? No
What I am saying is that the election of Trump to such an important Office do give ammunition to people all over the world who don’t want democracy. When democracy can give you someone like Trump through massive amounts of electoral advertising and financial backing. Hundreds of millions being spent to tell outright lies to affect people thinking and getting the outcome that they wish to see. (Just like Brexit but that’s a different story!) Sure Sanders would have been a winner but the democrats decided to go for Clinton. Which is a shame because we would avoided the disaster that is Trump.
....and my point was, they have to start somewhere and there’s a distinct difference between 40 and 70, that’d be 30 human lives fella......
the thing is so bad in the us they wouldnt even bother report a bolt action shooter as he's get nowhere near 20. YOu could in finland maybe out over there? he'd need an hour I'd back myself with a hand gun every time as long as you are not sat on top of a building picking off people at random.
Clinton would have been a bigger disaster mate. Her funding came from the Saudis FYI and she is a rabid warm monger, who do you think brought slavery back to Libya, 300 bucks for a human there. Sanders was rigged out of the nomination, it's not that he "didn't get it". http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41850798 Elizabeth Warren agrees Democratic race 'rigged' for Clinton It was rigged by Clinton crony Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Clinton literally took over the Democrat party for the election including 75% of all funding, when it is meant to be shared equally. So, if Sanders would have beat Trump, and I know a few Sanders voters that voted Trump, then the Democrats were a massive factor in Trump being elected by rigging Sanders out of the nomination and AND putting forward the worst candidate maybe in US history
but not in the gun control debate it isn't, one is too many. fallacious argument Tobes. Starting with getting rid of all the illegal weapons is where it should start reduce gun crime massively Restore people's sense of safety Then talk about giving up guns Then maybe even reduce the heavy police weaponry too. If I moved to the US tomorrow, I am buying a gun. Why? it's obvious why. I am not afraid of gun enthusiasts, I am afraid of criminals with guns
IMO clinton would be damaged goods and easy meat for republican majority house and senate. It would be "business as usual" presidency. I also know saunders voters who went and voted anything but clinton in actual general election. IMO trumps had an easy ride on positive macro economic outlook and has still managed to **** up several key issues and store up issues long term for america globally. Clintons sole positive note was "first woman president" everything esle said withdraw now. Fainting, sick, emial scandals etc etc. Trump had really nothing going for him either but bluster and got done for sexual scandal. the fact NEITHER withdrew from campaign and BOTH got full backing speaks to me how rotten the system over there is. both parties had better candidates to run.
agree in general. Bottom line is still the Democrats made it possible for Trump to win by being so ****, they have lost every state election almost, since, lost the house, everything They are now financially broke going into the midterms. The party is a shambles
It’s not a fallacious argument at all, removing semi automatics from sale would be a decent starting point. The wider and more contentious issues around availability and access to all firearms in the US whether legal or otherwise should then be debated honestly and not closed down due to the President being funded by the NRA!
'I hear you': Trump uses a CUE-CARD to remind himself to be sympathetic as he meets survivors of Florida school massacre please log in to view this image
It is fallacious to bring the number of deaths into it. It's fallacious to consider some firearms. You seem to think blacks killing 100 blacks in Chicago with pistols in a month, is not as bad as yer man killing 60 people with a semi auto AR one time then dying himself? c'mon mate
just live in a decent area mate. most yanks i know don't need a gun. A few I know inherited their grandparents wwii **** (IMO btw this all started as an issue of gun onwership with soliders coming back form wwii just keeping weapons but an industry has accelerated over the past 25 years driving it. YOu are missing the point that its not own one gun arguement.... with clear and robust backgorund checks and annual follows ups with laws and inspections baout gun storage. Its a free for all over there. Its arsenals of guns. as many bullets as you need. If you go to the states you could by say a glock. And own what 30 bullets say. thats enough as any one time. thats 3 clips. too many in fact. If you are holding a gun for self protection you don't need more than a couple bullets do you? so why do peopel demand 1000s of rounds and while about extra capacity magainzes, conversion kits etc etc etc. The problem as you said is societal so you have to remove the excesses.. that is gun control Its about reducing the inventory and exposing the issues. 18 school shooting ins 2018.. exactly how many of those were mexican guns from over the border? trumps answer is background checks (good answer) one day and its arm teacher the next (terrible idea) trump spouts whatever was last whispered in his ear. he's that type it seems.
