absolutely. Go on then diego, give us a vid of player being pushed into the stands AFTER the ball has gone out of play and no disciplinary action is taken. In England.

I had to list all of the many examples where someone was kicked in the head and not red carded <laugh>

Was that when he threatened to not play for England or am I thinking of something completely different?

You're the one saying it's commonplace, therefore you should have many examples easily at your disposal.

The ball is out of play, and one man petulantly shoves another over the advertising hoardings and into the crowd - where he, and possibly a member of the public could have been injured.
What response from the officials would you consider is appropriate?

Stop moving the goalposts, you're saying it's a regular occurrence that a player ends up in the crowd, you haven't distinguished whether it was through being pushed or through them being responsible for it themselves.
Surely you can see that being deliberately pushed isn't the same as accidently falling over the barrier/wall, are you saying that Holgate was entitled to recklessly endanger Firmino's wellbeing?

Or maybe the witnesses were honest and said things like "there was a lot of shouting going on, I heard something that sounded like it but can't say it definitely was"

Simple really, no real proof it happened but none that it didn't either. No case to answer due to insufficient evidence but no reason to doubt that Holgate thought he heard something as others heard something similar too.

Why does it have to be some big cover-up or conspiracy? the time it has taken suggests it was well investigated and a definite decision could not be made either way.
    Good open result.

I had forgotten about that, would be interesting for somebody to raise that on MOTD when he is ****ing on about being proud to play for country etc.

I'd say it's at least a yellow card and some refs would give a red and some not, but that's not my point.

I'm not debating what should have been given, I'm debating it being said that the ref was going to give him a card before the afters... how could anyone possibly know that? It's an assumption, not fact.

Since when does one have to prove innocence?
Your desperate need to argue everything really does show you up at times. "Insufficient evidence" and "no case to answer" are rather differently weighted statements.

Nope, I am saying that when Holgate pushed him (petulant act) because he had stopped running once the ball crossed the line, he probably never thought he was strong enough to make him take another 4/5 steps and dive into the crowd.

If I remember rightly he actually gave him two pushes... a small one and then a larger one with two hands.
