    1882 sources have confirmed that QPR have completed the signing of Joey Barton on a free transfer from Newcastle United.

    I think it's a mixture of disappointment - because a big name would have encouraged others - and frustration at the timewasting aspect. The suspicion is that he had no intent of ever signing, and was using us as a bargaining tool to get a better deal with NUFC or attract the interest of a big 4 club.

    Guess we'll find out soon enough - I only hope Colin still has time to pull in a few signings before the deadline.

    He's a bit of a twat but he would be a good signing if you want to survive your 1st season in the PL.

    He clearly doesn't want to leave NUFC and is hoping they offer him a new contract.

    I don't really think that would have anything to do with him not signing. We're a small club and I wouldn't be surprised if a bigger club or Fulham made a last minute bid for him. As much as people like to slag him off he's a top prem midfielder.

    The tone of this discussion surprises me, i hear he completed the second stage of his medical this afternoon and now he is mulling over the finer details of the offer think this is reasonable????!!!!!
