The branding suggestion, the concessions suggestion, however many phoney meetings, turning up to be immediately cancelled; are you seriously saying the Allams are not manipulating the Supporters Committee? Or are you saying that the Trust understand the Allams believe they are getting away with their manipulation and are just going along with it, which in some strange way cancels it out? Seems to me that all of the actions called for from the Trust have been turned back onto the Supporters with nothing but demands and a distinct lack of action from the owners - if that isn't manipulation then I don't know what is.
I’m saying the Trust played things exactly as they should have done and everyone can see it except you.
I’m inclined to agree OLM. I think both sides played their “A” game. I just think the Club held the better cards. MoH
The problem is that there are many who don't see all the available information and think it's the Trust and their thinly veiled threats that got the supporters meeting cancelled and are planning the protests. Those of us who are regular on here see it differently but there are many more who still believe the **** which the Allams put out.
Did anyone hear sports talk tonight, I caught the last 5 seconds of what I assume was an interview with someone from one of the protest groups. Anyone hear it?
Why don't you want to queue? It will not take more than one or two matches to resolve the problem however big it is. Stop being so selfish. I presume you don't use the North stand where the queues are ridiculous for such small gates. Apologies to anyone else who has pointed out the obvious (DBT et al). Just back from a short break.
please log in to view this image should take the protest to his house - big banner 'Honk if you hate Allam' should piss him off
I stand in the North Stand queue to get to my seat in N4. Odd that isn’t it. As you say the queue is ridiculous. Your point about it taking just a couple of matches to resolve the problem hasn’t worked to sort out the 10-15 minute average time it takes get in has it? The bag search has not taken a couple of matches to sort out either has it? Print at home tickets still cause delays and they haven’t taken a couple of matches to sort out, have they? The fact is that the barcode scanning delays, the bag search and the print at home tickets that don’t scan because they have a fold in the wrong place are bad enough, but... I do not want to have to stand in a queue whilst someone gets stopped from going in because he or she has the wrong type of ticket. I don’t want to stand around whilst someone kicks off because they can’t get into the stadium and their kids have already gone through the turnstiles. Selfish, that may be, but you are deluded if you think that ANY delay will not lead to moaned about on here, in the queue or in the stands. Hang on, in case you haven’t got it.... you are ****ing deluded.
But everything you’ve mentioned is happening regardless, for everyone The small amount of people coming in on concession tickets and being turned away would sort itself out after a couple of weeks...and then you’d just be back to the current shambles Yes there’d be a bit of a moan, I probably would myself, but after a couple of weeks of embarrassment and hassle for those few people they’d stop...particularly if the club allowed people that had ‘mistakenly’ bought the wrong ticket to pay the extra to upgrade them Kids going in first or second could be very easily sorted, there’s a door to open close to the turnstiles The alternative, and probably a better option, would be to allow everyone in, and simply pull them to one side before going up the stairs. That would need some decent stewarding, and communications, but only for a few weeks I honestly don’t think I’m ****ing deluded
DBT, people will moan about it and I have said I don’t want queue whilst someone in front gets their ticket sorted, the bag search takes seconds to sort, as does the scanning delays, but the wrong type of ticket takes resources and time to sort. I am being called selfish, yet you can have a moan about it, what’s the difference, you will moan about for a couple of games with the expectation that it will sort out and I will moan until it does. Holding back before the stairs doesn’t work for me. The answer to concession tickets and flow rates is simple. Do nothing at the turnstiles to combat fraud, do it before the turnstile. Two lines Adult and Concession, families go through the concession queue. Random checks in the queue. Use colour coded membership cards or mark tickets with a coloured pen (plenty of spare crayons around). It would take the same time as the security search does in the queue. Not hard to enforce and no significant delay.
I’ve never called you selfish. I simply disagree with you that it wouldn’t sort itself out. We may never know which of us is right Anyway...I like your solution better actually. Sorted
I realise you didn’t call me deluded directly, but you did call the person who said exactly the same deluded. Don’t worry though...I’m a big boy (and I drink a lot, so I’m likely to live forever!)
Don’t bloody accuse me of being fair! Anyway you need to read the Good News article. Not drinking for 5 weeks is taking your life in your hands!
I complain about the queues all the time (well when I attend these days). So that might prove the point you make but it doesn't make me '****ing deluded'. The only deluded people are those who think the Allams are honest and intending to change things for the benefit of supporters. And some of those might be OSC members.
