Morning all. Its an early start for me today as i was awaiting delivery of a parcel and then have the parcels to do. Its just raining and generally a rubbish day.

OFH, that must be a good job to have, getting paid to sit on a comfy seat for 90mins on a saturday watching football, occasionally having to move and join in. All whilst getting paid a fortune!!

    Afternoon all

A damp grey morning gradually giving way to a bit of sun and blue sky. A pastrami and horseradish sandwich awaits...my reward for going shopping this afternoon. It will need to be very good to represent a fair bargain...

I did find this article funny from the rumours website:

    24 Aug 2011 12:44:30
The closest Watford will get to Baldock is
If they go on a coach up the A1.
No money, no strikers, no hope.
Complete shambles from board room to tea room.

Time to pull our socks up and show the Championship what we are made of!!

    COYH!

Afternoon all. Just back from a Horse Sale - I've never been to an auction before - of any kind, let alone animals. Fascinating experience - but I am still absolutely bemused by how anyone did any bidding - I could not see anyone waving bits of card or whatever - we did not buy anything - at least I think not - but if a trailer turns up this afternoon and aI am asked where I want these 15 horses put then I shall know I did something wrong :)

    DISCOMBOBULATED

brilliant word that! I'm feeling a bit DISCOMBOBULATED.

Hornetty-Betty within hours of reading your comment I read the same word in a novel, considering the word is hardly in everyday use is this pure coincidence? Or are you reading (or recently read) Val Mcdermids Trick of the Dead

When you win 7-1, you don't expect to get beat 2-0 in the next game, fans have high expectations and rightly so and have the right to complain at a lack lustre performance. It doesn't matter if you make changes to the team when you demolish one team you expect to go forward rather than have a setback in the next match. No one booed on Tuesday night but then we did not win our last game or in fact any game this season!

I understand groaning at the result, but why boo their team at half time??? they went behind at home to ipswich but no one complained then, and with 45 mins left to go they could easily have scored 5/6. I can understand if they were playing badly, but baring in mind its the micky mouse cup i find it a bit silly.

i don't know about you but a win is a win, whether it be in the league or a "Mickey Mouse" cup game as you say. I would rather win than get beat and have to pick up the pieces yet again. Winning games brings success and breeds confidence, what your saying is that you don't mind getting beat! Sorry but that is not right, all supporters want their team to win. You don't win you get relegated or you don't progress in the cup and get get much needed income for the club. Not exactly getting behind the team or club is it Dan?

I would rather you did not question my support for the club baring in mind i travel 70+ miles to each home game and have done for 5 years now. I also have not left a match early nor have i booed the team i love. I am simply saying that slating your team and booing after just one defeat (which was against a good team on paper, and baring in mind Posh have only just been promoted) is a bit harsh. Had they lost 4-0 then yeah by all means moan and say it was bad, but they had just won 7-1 in the league which surely means a lot more to the club! Also dont forget there is the FA cup to come, so they have another chance at a better cup.

Put it this way, if we were 6th in the league and in Peterborough's position would you boo Watford after we lost 2-0?? I know i would not!

You clearly state you think the Cup is Mickey Mouse, surely that means you didn't mind Watford getting beat in a "Mickey Mouse" cup game. I would prefer we win every game or at least put up a fight. P/boro fans are entitled to show their frustration at their teams performance, I disagree with booing as that does not prove anything. I also stick by my comments about getting behind the team, no matter what game we are playing in!

And looking through that bunch, there is only one who I would definitely like to see in our team - no prizes for guessing! The rest are just a bunch of show ponies who would disgrace the shirt.

I dont mind that we lost. I am not happy about it, but i think we put everything into it and tried our damnedest! I know you might disagree but i am going on what i heard from Tommy Mooney on Hornets Player. I never like us loosing, but when we were in the premiership we lost week in week out and very nearly had the lowest points total ever (again!) but i never once booed the team. The problem i have is people will turn on a team if they fail once, as the Peterborough fans did.

I was not saying they should not be upset about loosing, but why should they boo their team after only their 2nd defeat of the season, the first coming against Blackpool at Bloomfield road. Peterborough are having an outstanding start to the season, baring in mind they lost CMS who was their talisman goalscorer and a few others too. I would not be booing Watford, however i would be a bit disappointed. There is the difference.
