Ginger current chart topper, Ed Sheeran turns 27 today having been born in Halifax on this day in 1991. I'm not posting any of his songs as they are currently wall to wall all over the TV, radio and the internet..
One for Wes, he's had a bit of a hard time recently, so happy for him to score his first for the mighty Saints!... All together now... Ole ole, ole ole, ole ole, ole ole, Wesley Hoedt Hoedt Hoedt
Well I will. My fav song of his (and half the planet). Music sometimes takes you to an exact moment in time and this one takes me to my daughter's wedding in 2015 when it came on, my other half and I were the only ones left dancing 'underneath the lights of a thousand stars' (aka a chandelier) Brings goosebumps to me every time I hear it
That was one hard earned 'like' but your wedding story deserved it, but it only just managed to cancel out the awfulness of Sheeran!
Tbf, I don't think sheeran is all bad. He is an ok singer. My big issue is this massive lovefest and media hype around him. He could burp the eastenders theme tune and it would get to number one. There are so many great artists, so many great songs who don't get the deserved recognition. Local radio stations are the worst, having sheeran, take that, beyonce, little mix etc on a continuous loop. Other genuinely great music or new artists don't get a look in.
It's 40 years (yesterday) since this stunning debut album from a strange, wonderful, unique artist called Kate Bush was released. I still play it to this day and it still sounds brand new and fresh and it always picks me up...
I am actually quite famous (in my little world) in being able to burp the Dallas, Dynasty and Coronation Street them tunes without throwing up, I'll try Eastenders. I'm also very good at doing them in the style of the late great Louis Armstrong
As this thread is, in the main, a YouTube-based melange of the sublime, and occasionally the ridiculous, I demand cinematographic evidence of your skills in this area.
Correct me if I’m wrong here, because I’m not a music person at all. When Sheeran first “made it” I remember hearing how great it was because he’d done it the hard way, busking, touring, etc... now he’s made it, people won’t post his music because it is everywhere???? If that’s right, it’s a very odd behavioural thing. I see it a lot and find it strange. Very British. Back the underdog and then beat the **** out of them when they make it. My first part may not be right though.
