FootballDotLondon are predicting this will be the team
Vorm; Trippier, Alderweireld, Foyth, Rose; Wanayama, Winks; Lucas, Son, Sissoko; Llorente

FootballDotLondon also predicted Oakley-Boothe would start against Newport...

BAE could not even survive AVBs' authority regime,
let alone Pochettinos' (he can ask his mate Adebayor
    how that goes) . :)

Sorry boss, the bus was late wouldn't go down well with Poch no. But if Benny had bought into Poch's regime, we would have seen one of, if not the best full back ever, the guy had the natural skill, just lacking a bit in application. No one liked AVB, they all like Poch, it might have just worked.

  6. Never let the club down on the pitch and has been a consistent supporter since he left. Played well for Jol and Harry (at Spurs and QPR) which says it all for me actually - and only fell out with that twat AVB on a matter of principal - something that is frankly missing in most top players.
As RCL states: no pretence about the guy. Miss him!

But was apparently very unprofessional off
the pitch during the AVB era (irrespective of
whether he liked the manager or not) .

I've said numerous times in the past but AVB was a cancer to this club. Ruined so many players, both old and new.

Benny would still be first choice had Poch gotten to him before AVB, I truly believe that.

I highly doubt Paulinho would've been the absolute donkey he was under AVB if Poch worked with him from the off. Paulinho's first couple of months at Spurs were great, IIRC he was MOTM on his debut and hit the ground running but then once AVB got his claws into him he suddenly became this makeshift, ****y DM that looked like he'd just stepped up from Sunday League. You only have to see how well he's doing now at Barca to realise what a player he is, it's taken him a good number of years to rebuild what AVB broke.

By the time Poch arrived, so many had been shafted by AVB or had their confidence on the pitch completely ruined to the point that even Poch couldn't help them.

Not usually revelled in manager sackings but when AVB was removed it was a fantastic day, so much so that I even celebrated the announcement of Tim Sherwood <laugh>

  9. There were a few who regarded Benny’s ‘there’s more to life than football’ attitude to life to be some sort of slight and criticized his every move, blowing up every error on the pitch to be the end of the world. That was even when he was a regular under Harry. They also ignored his selfless actions post-riots, when he would walk the Tottenham High Road and continued to get his haircut there. Apparently social responsibility isn’t a key concern of some fans.........

It's not so much a matter of liking, it's respecting. If you respect someone, you will try to do as they ask. If you don't respect him, you are likely to do something that winds them up. Look at Pardew for instance, he has a reputation for trying to chat up his players wives/girfriends. No players respect him, that's why they get pissed and steal taxi's etc. And it is why he will never succeed all the time he has a hole in his arse.

When you are earning TENS of 1000s per WEEK, then I
say bit your lip and tow the line, or seek to leave ASAP.

Money is immaterial, whether it is £100 or £1,000,000 per week, one has to respect ones boss or it will not work.

  15. Never said it was. Just stating the fact that Benny polarized opinion with fans despite most indications were that he was a good professional and a decent human being. :emoticon-0148-yes:

  16. Feckin’ BBC at it again....

    Rochdale v Tottenham (16:00 GMT)
Right then, team news is a-coming from Rochdale in about 15 minutes. Will Harry Kane play? Is Toby Alderweireld going to be back in favour? Will any kids get a chance?

Then take the second action as I stated.

In his last season at Spurs, Steve Archibald
was apparently not on speaking terms with Keithy.

Yet Archibald was professional enough to apply
himself in training etc to be picked to play, and then
deliver on pitch. And Keithy was professional
enough to avoid being petty and not select the
    player because of it.

If I had left every job where I didn't respect my boss, I would probably been happier, but out of work now. I just knuckled down, did my job to the best of my ability, and waited for the boss to be sacked, which has happened in almost every situation that has occured. However, the company has suffered in each of those situations. If I could have afforded to walk away, I probably would have done. Benny probably could afford to walk.

Sissoko and Llorente in the starting lineup? What could go wrong?
