Good morning all from a mild and dry Weston-super-Mare, that's caught up with a bit of sleep! Have a good day!
Hi Dave - hope the rest has helped. You might though need to amend your greeting to "Good Middle of the Night All"
Mex told me off for posting good morning before he had gone to bed Talking of Mex does anyone know where he is in Mexico? They have had a large earthquake in the last couple of days
Mornin' all. See Dave that you have a big match on Sunday. Hopefully the canaries avoid being run over by a tractor and end up singing. And join you all in hoping Mex and his family are OK. This weekend seems a bit dead with no rugger or footie. Well beyond tomorrow my local team Cadiz have a chance of solidifying their promotion hopes to La Liga. Always wanted to see Real and Barca and now I might get my chance. Well enjoy whatever you are getting up to
Good day all, pleased to see a canary feeling chirpy. Overnight we had very heavy rain, and when I went to town today the results were obvious. Fields underwater and the rivers over their banks. The water level will rise more because of all of the ditches are full and will drain into the streams eventually. Looks as if we are due to go back to clear skies from tomorrow and overnight frosts.
Well well. I wondered what was happening about an hour ago , the flat was rumbling, I have just read that it was an earthquake. First one I have experienced
I wondered if you would feel it Dave. Apparently it was a 4.4 and centred near Swansea - so just over the Bristol channel from you at 2.30
We had a bit of an earthquake here a few years ago. You would have hardly noticed it if it hadn't been for my chiming clock springing into life, it was not wound up and working at the time. It was given a bit of a shake and started to tick as the pendulum was set in motion, followed afterwards as it hit three o'clock with some bongs.
Clermont-Ferrand is a city in the centre of France with a population of 140,000. Looking at the area around it there is a population of 470,000, so plenty of people. Last night I watched their football team at home playing Chateauroux, the two teams being 7th and 8th in Ligue 2, Championship in English terms. The attendance was 2,307 in a ground that holds 10,500. This is similar to teams in League 2 in England such as Cambridge Utd. There is a difference however as most of the grounds here are owned by the towns and provide sports, not just football for the whole population. The set up is quite different, with elected presidents of sports associations rather than owners. It is only when you get to the very large clubs such as PSG that the model changes.
Morning all. Grey at present but sun forecast for later. My monthly visit to the restaurant with friends. At least I will not have to try and explain how Watford were robbed by some dodgy officials yesterday.
