Credit to Pellegrino for taking the Cup seriously, it has given everyone a boost.

And whilst I'm on that subject, Man City v Brighton, Burnley v Chelsea and Leicester v Arsenal will also be rearranged. Possibly Spurs v Newcastle and/or West Ham v Man Utd and/or Huddersfield v Palace. too.

It wasn't a poor performance. It was OK to decent.

Agreed; the biggest plus of the night for me. Not much else to get carried away about (as it was WBA) but did enjoy the grit and determination shown. The team is fighting for each other; just need to translate that into league points.

I haven't looked into where it might fall yet. Could be absolutely massive.

The two midweeks immediately before the QFs (being the first two midweeks in March) are European weeks, so they can be ruled out (what with UEFA not wanting domestic games to clash, unless no other options).

The two weeks immediately after the QFs are an international break, so they can be ruled out.

The two weeks immediately that are again both European weeks.

The week after that is free. So Tuesday 18 April and Wednesday 19 April. In between our home match v Chelsea, and away match v Leicester. Given that more European weeks feature thereafter, plus the 'risk' that us and/or Swansea make the SF and hence have yet another game postponed (which for us, would be that Leicester away game btw), I would suggest that this week is pretty nailed on to be where the Swansea game will be moved to.

I thought in the second half, the goal aside which was well taken by Dusan, we were rubbish. The back 5 including McCarthy did very well, but the midfield and forwards should have made more of the gaps they left in my opinion.

Look, I'm happy we are through, obviously, but I have no more hope that our league fortunes will turn after today's game than I did before, put it that way. Others may disagree. I would rather play away than at home at the moment though.

Fair enough - entitled to your view Tom. I thought we made things difficult for ourselves in the second half, and struggled when the opposition reacted.

Happy we're through - safe trip back.

So yeah could be absolutely massive by then. Be interesting to see what others are rearranged.

It was backs to the wall second half and we rode our luck a few times but we always looked a threat when we went forward. And Pellegrino tried to kill the game off which was pleasing.

Other than an away trip to Wednesday (or Wigan/Rochdale...), I presume we'll get our first taste of VAR regardless of venue or opponent. All QFs are on TV. (But I don't think they put VAR into non-PL grounds)

Amazing how we seem to score more away, anything to do with the supporters who are actually at the game? Thank you to them anyway, I’m sure you all act as the 12th player! Really pleased and simply enjoying a win, I don’t care who the opposition is we can only play who is in front of us. Well done MP take the credit with your team today.

Good first half, awful second half but we got the result.

Great to see Sims, hope he gets more time as he proved more dangerous in 5 minutes than Redmond did all game. Still not sure Carrillo offers any more than Gallagher would have to be honest.
