I really want Pellegrino to do well. He seems pretty nice. It's a shame he's a bit ****.

More singers would be good for atmosphere

Less whingers and boo-ers would be even better

Yep...... and with 6million + reasons to leave; you can also add the fact that he had 'peedoff' Sadio Mane to the point that he (Mane) was determined to leave Saints. He had also 'peed off' his main playmaker (Tadic) who was threatening to go if RK stayed. And he was losing Mr. Italian stallion to the big bucks on offer in China. Upshot of changing his agent to secure his lucrative escape route was 'mane (pardon pun) from heaven'
Interesting that RK had been sacked (& was out of work) before Saints gave him a lifeline, then sacked shortly after he deserted St. Mary's...... KARMA or what?

Sorry 'chilco' but "do the math" as they say - how many more "bums' at £20 a pop, do you need to equal the same income as does the current levels of crowd income?
    Just sayin'

the premer league is disgusting and thats why we shouldnt worry too much about leaving it.

its disgusting that the avergae player earns £50k a week, a ****ing week to put in a half baked performance and all the bloody hype - it really is a loado f bolocks when it comes down it it.

On a personal level I was actually a lot happier in league 1 and the chamionship for that matter as I could get to the away games at short notice and just turn up and the fans were awesome !

I'll support Saints regardless of what league we play.
While I enjoyed the championship and league 1 days I still want us to play against the very best teams so Premier is where I'd be happiest.

Sadly, for people like 'jonny' there is a vast audience across the world that patently disagree with that view. The Premier League is watched by millions and the revenue generated filters back to the clubs that are in it! That why there is always a 'bun fight' every year for (a) teams to stay in it! and for (b) teams to get promotion into it!
Got pals who (still) are Blackburn Rovers fans; they no longer eulogise about their "Uncle Jack" and winning the Prem title........ but they desperately want to get back into it and play against a the best teams again.

Yeah moneys everything now. **** the fanbase who stuck by the club in the the dark days. Just treat them as customers and extract as much as possible out of them <ok>

It's an 'americanism' and, as such, is part of the language here in England too....... even though, like you, I have always questioned it.
Read a book about the 'incarnation' of Wal-Mart (who subsequently acquired ASDA) and the phrase appeared several times in most chapters..... did my head in!!!!

I was when our team had an identity. Much of that has been eroded over the last 18-24 months unfortunately.
I'm happy regardless of our league provided we are financially secure and have a squad of players who enjoy playing for us.

    Yep.

I've been saying it for a few seasons now. The only thing I like about being in the PL is that it theoretically gives us the best chance of winning a pot.

Otherwise, give me the lower leagues any day of the week.

What we mustn't forget is that our finances are based on being a PL side. Okay to drop down and get immediate promotion back, but anything longer could result in financial concerns and we no longer have a sugar daddy.

I had done the maths thank you. Last season Southampton FC earnt a total of £122 million from prize money, TV facilities money (from having live games televised), and their share of the TV pool money. I don’t know the income from ticket money, but if you average the cost of a seat at say £30, over 19 games, assuming an average attendance of 30,000 that brings in £17,100,000. If you dropped the average ticket price to £20 and increased the average attendance to 31,500 that brings in a shade under £12 million. So you lose £5 million in ticket money but you should make a lot of that back with increased sales of food, drink, and merchandise. Still a shortfall but bearing in mind the TV money goes up every year, there would come a point in the next year or so where there the two balance out.
