Another dreadful event and another batch of dreadful blame culture. We are not American unless of course you actually are. If I was then I would feel shame that this has become a normal event If anyone thinks that culture is not important is wrong. How ever this sort of thing has become on trend is very sad. The country as a whole should stop, turn the entire off until respect is given to the loss and solutions are tough measures are introduced. It doesn’t happen and the world just carries on until the next time. By then the actual impact of exactly what is happening is more diluted than before. If it is this Cruz bloke then off to hell you go How to fix the worse culture in the world Who knows but in time surely the world will see why and understand why so many want it destroyed
What’s the temperature of this story in the states. Does anyone think that it’s someones fault say like the rifle society or whatever they are called? This would continue imo if they made guns illegal overnight would it not? Where’s there’s a will then there’s a way and there’s always a ****ing way ... Sexy Beast Quote
There is the same widespread shock as there is in all these shootings but give it a week and its forgotten. Banning guns over night would not stop it overnight of course but it would be a major start to stopping this. The guy who bought the AR-15 did so recently and legally and if a ban was in place a year ago he would not have been able to buy the riffle. Got to start somewhere but its not going to happen in our lifetimes. I love living here despite the gun culture as you like living in France despite French people living there!
I don’t just stay in France I am in the U.K. every two weeks hence why I am a grumpy old cnut. I also nip to Girona or Barca if the frogs get on my tits I don’t however in any of my trio of places I am the most ever see kids shooting up schools. I am also surrounded by guns where I am in France most households have one and if you were to need one you can get one at a car boot sale
No we have muskets but they do a similar job. For automatic work we sometimes carry three with a catapult for longer ranges AR15s or Oral toothbrushes both are manufactured for market. The market and those who control it are therefore to blame I agree cut that out and the problem should slow but then again look at the existing stock There will always be someone trying to make money out of something. So until then as it’s yet another dreadful trend set by the evil empire I am guessing we will be in the 20’s soon? . At least we can all have brilliant white teeth while we all accept this sort of evil as a normal thing which it now is The outward face of what the U.S represents and how that infects society is the problem? Why is this happening they may keep asking? Well I say it’s because your country and society is out of control ... a place where kids shot kids before they even understand or respect life
A lot of Brits actually believe they are American. They look to the US as their big brother ... we have a special relationship That means we borrow a lot of money off them. The U.K’s obsession with the US is engrained to a point that we honestly have been brainwashed that they are our best friends. Its exactly what makes the British such a pompous people
I don't know about pompous, but I think the Brits are misguided if they think there's a special relationship with the US. The US will, quite reasonably, treat as its best friend, any country that suits them at the time.
I see almost the exact reverse, many Brits are stunningly anti American (not just lefties by a long way) can’t wait to run them down. I think it’s a bit of a chip on the shoulder thing. Mind you, within most countries there is similar anti US sentiment. It’s because we work in stereotypes. The ‘special relationship’ is a political propaganda thing, and clearly bullshit.
I know you love him, so... http://hitchensblog.mailonsunday.co...istent-special-relationship-churchill-wa.html
I agree I will retract this wholeheartedly and apologies to anyone who was upset by such a rude and offensive term
Mmmmmm. I think you've commented before that you were surprised by my antipathy towards America. Can't say I've ever really considered myself to have a chip on my shoulder as I don't aspire to go back there again (except to the few bits of semi wilderness) drive their cars, eat their so-called cuisine (emphasis on fast food and corporate branding) fall in love with their women or watch their news programs as told by a couple of very powerful and wealthy individuals . Don't get me wrong. The Americans I met while in Chicago were all down to earth, polite, sociable people that I genuinely liked. Hence I agree with your point about disliking the stereotype yank. As a society it certainly has a lot of problems with its obsession with the American dream, guns, drugs and race. Mind you I do like their music (Jersey Shore) and their serious dramas. I think the real reason why Americans are more detested than liked are because people don't wish to lose their national identity in the rush to globalisation and they are ruthless when their own vested interests are challenged. It's not just that they dislike competition it's the fact that they will seek to crush their international competitors by any means of unfair competition. The same goes for their tolerance of democratically elected governments who happen not to buy into Washington's vision of the world as a happy place. If they were a bit less selective as to when they choose to help victims of tyranny and when they weren't they might get away with their role as self -anointed guardians of the universe. Apart from that I haven't a bad word to say about them. At least not until I've reloaded.
