What was it Ben said about it only being complicated to people who like complications. You seem to be trying very hard to make it a complicated issue and likewise with concessions and other stuff. No one else seems to have an issue with them.

I do not disagree with that you on the actions of the owners. As for the light system, I looked at it as I thought that it would work to identify the card type, but I now believe that the light are like traffic lights, they are green when someone can go through, amber when a card is being processed and red when locked.

Not a biggie, no. IMO it was a stupid thing to do, handing out the scarves. However, it does take on a different significance if they were handed out at the last 4hr meeting or the one before that (taking retrospective offence at something you had previously taken on the chin). Red herring.

When asked recently by the Trust for details on the abuse issue with a view to us helping them address it, they didn't respond.

Realistically, I don't see any reason to believe honest Ehab when he makes this claim of a widespread ticket abuse problem with no evidence.

    what a ****ing laugh

1 thinly veiled threat - not even subtle, threat is the only way he negotiates, threat of melton, threat of leaving in 24 hours, threat of over the top reaction if they don't get their way - anyone who has a modicum of negotiating skill should be able to persuade the other party to their way of thinking - Pinky and Perky haven't a ****ing clue

2 new club branding - I thought it wasn't policy not to use Hull City so why is it new you ****s

I expect a full line of Robocops in front of the North Stand to batter any pockets of resistance

the only reason the status quo remains is to avoid an outright riot

How does every other club in the country manage to have concessions and make it work ?

Middlesbrough, whose average last season was higher than ours only identified 160. Why would ours have been significantly dearer? So instead of doing what they did and punishing those found guilty he brings in a system which lost thousands of fans and lost them far more revenue than was lost through abuse of concession tickets in the first place,

Because other clubs aren't as well run as ours.

Nope no one else has an issue with concessions, we are the only club that gets it wrong.

Senior citizens receive a poor deal from Arsenal
Arsenal are the only club in English football who do not allow senior citizens to sit next to family or friends and receive a concessionary price. Arsenal and Tottenham are the only clubs in all of English football who put a limit on the number of seats allocated to senior citizens at a concessionary price.

Arsenal and Tottenham restrict senior citizens at a concessionary price to 8% and 24% respectively of their seats, whereas the other 18 clubs have concessionary access to all parts of the other stadiums in the rest of the Premier League which means clubs allow applications for at least 90% of their seats to adults and senior citizens equally. Thus, Arsenal offer the least number of ticket options or packages to senior citizens in the Premier League.

Arsenal keep the prices of senior citizens at the full adult price because if they gave concessions to senior citizens they would suffer “a significant loss in ticket income” according to what Ivan Worsell (Ticketing & Services Director) told me. Arsenal supporters hate being bottom of any league so I helped to lauch a campaign to lift them off the bottom of the senior citizens league table.

Arsenal will not divulge how many senior citizen season ticket holders they have because it would be “against the policy of the club” according to Mr. Worsell. So, we have to guess. Let us estimate that there are 5,000 senior citizens out of the 33,000 season ticket holders. If they were given the average concessionary discount from the Premier League clubs of 32% the senior citizen concessionary season ticket price at the Emirates would be £952 (£1400 – 32%).

This would mean a discount of £448. 5000 senior citizens are being overcharged 5000 x £448 = £2,240,000. This, of course, does not include the overcharging of senior citizens on match day tickets around the ground which might easily double this figure. This means senior citizens could be overcharged £4,480.000 per season.

Of course the discount could be a different level, which would mean the cost to the Club would be considerably less than these figures. For me the mot important thing is that Arsenal remove their insistence that reduced prices are only available in one section of the stadium. I attended a meeting on the subject with the Club; it was constructive and friendly and the current policy was descibed as an “embarrassment” by a Club official.

It is my belief that the existing Arsenal policies of restricting concessionary season-tickets to the Family Enclosure breaks their own rules as well as the Premier League’s rules. Equally importantly, through my work with AISA, I have discovered that this issue causes much distress, with long-terms supporters of the Club being extremely upset at being forced to chose between sitting alone to obtain a reduced-price ticket or staying with friends and family and paying the full price.

It is not a choice that anyone should be forced to make. I enrolled my son as a Junior Gunner 20 years ago, and we’ve sat together ever since. I travel up from Fareham for every match so my travel costs are substantial even with a one-third discount on the train. Nil discount to my season ticket feels like a kick in the teeth.

Arsenal should adjust their policy and act in a decent way towards long-term supporters whose income is often significantly reduced when they retire. In other areas Arsenal policies are more enlightened. We are rated fourth in the Premier League for our policies for disabled supporters regarding wheelchair spaces. I would like us to be top of every league but for senior citizens fourth would be a massive improvement; time for a change.

Brian Williams campaigns on ticketing issues and how they affect senior citizens. He represents AISA on the issue and can be contacted at [email protected]

I also think it was a bit of a silly thing to do and I reckon Mr Beilby has come to the same conclusion.

The story of the threatening paperwork, introduced after the event by the big chief of the Allamite tribe is another red herring imo.

He (TOM) would appear to be attempting to defend the gormless imbeciles (Massive and Dense) and justify their very obvious ignorance and arrogance in cancelling the meeting.

That's OK then. The Allams are vindicated andcwecshould applaud them. Except there isn't a percentagevquota on senior citizens at our club. None get them.

Christ. Do you know what the problem with the OSC is? You're a ret big bunch of fanny flappers. You are so piss scared of contradicting the owners and losing out on your special meet the player events with the likes of Diomande, you've actually sat there and wasted part of your day thinking about and writing that pile of drivel to not only defend your beloved Allam but also attempt to justify their bullshit.

I am not trying to defend anyone, least of all the owners, but the blinkered views expressed on here at times, are just that blinkered. Hate the Allams, don't believe a word that they say, has got supporters where exactly, nowhere.

Ahead of this season, the turnstiles lit up red when a concession pass was used, obviously it’s different this season, as there are no concessions.

I thought the same, but could not find a system that actually did that. I am happy to be proved wrong.

Fair enough matey, I accept that you probably let us know about the document with the EFL regs to add context.

It does seem more likely to me that they had already decided they were going to cancel the meeting well before they arrived

Did you hear the woman who is now a spokesperson for the OSC on Sportstalk a couple of nights ago? Her standard response to points raised by the host was "But what can we do about it". Though she quickly chimed in to agree with a caller saying the Allams have given us such great times.

If they did, why would they even both bother to turn up and then stay around after cancelling?

A bit selective isn't it. Odd how others have commented that she answered the questions well.

How big a problem is it?
Well going by the link kindly provided by Omega man Middlesborough a club of similar size to ours found a total of 23 cases of misuse after a "major crackdown" at the first 3 games of this season.
Not a very big problem at all by the look of things.
