Do not get the Iwobi bashing. He's still developing and is a fast and direct player. He needs to work on his final ball and finishing, but he's a decent player worth sticking with for me.

It was like a training match. Didn't get out of first gear. The players clearly didn't think it was needed to really play to their best.

But I suppose it ended 3-0 so they didn't need to up the level to get the job done.

At least the team selection today suggests we will take this competition seriously from now on. This Ian going to potentially be our best chance at CL qualification and depending on the city LC final it could be our best chance at silverware.

its a shame its still only the round of 32 in a way. Theres still so much room for slip-ups from us. If we get past this round (which it looks like we are) theres a lot of good teams remaining in the competition...

    Was a good result.

    Thought Mkhitarian played well.

I'm a little worried about Wellbeck. He really looked like the weak link today. His finishing/passing around the box under pressure is atrocious.. like really REALLY bad.

The thing is he's a top class athlete but his technique and composure really hav'nt progressed in years. He's the same Wellbeck we saw at Sunderland back in the day.

You have to wonder why we sell Giroud but keep Wellbeck. I also think Lucas Perez would be a much better option for us. Its soo frustrating that Wenger sticks with players regardless of on field performance levels. I dont care how good Wellbeck looks in training. Whats the point of a striker who cant score goals?

I don't think he had much of a choice regarding Giroud, as it was part of the transfer merry-go-round. But letting Perez go and keeping Welbeck was odd. Same with Campbell.

To be fair, he would probably improve a lot if he could get a run of games under his belt.

Something that isn't happening at all the top clubs. Some managers like Klopp and Wenger give chances, but unless you're a top class young talent that hits the ground running, making a similar contribution to the seniors, chances are you'll get dropped for someone offering instant results.

It's sad to see as we never get to see some players develop.

Welbeck needs to be moved on. He turns 28 this year and it hasn’t really happened for him at Arsenal. To me he is the epitome of a signing that was never quite up to Arsenal standards.

He had potential when he first signed but he doesn’t score enough goals. We thought we got a great deal for £16m but he’s probably worth about that. I think he’d do well at a club like Everton. He’ll probably leave on a free transfer which I’m fine with.

Again, if we want to aim for the premier league we need to be more ruthless with player quality.

Have to agree with this. We can't afford to carry passengers in this team.

Oh come on. He didn't have any potential when he joined us. He'd never scored many goals anywhere in his career. And £16m was a waste and ripoff.
