I may be wrong but I think he filled in at RB against Hazard before and did pretty well. He’s definitely done a very good job against Rashford previously.
Artur Kliński @Artur_Klinski .@GrosickiKamil returns after a foot injury and will be in squad for game against Chelsea. He told: "It's 90% good with health, I can play without painkillers. It's time to get back on the pitch."
The untold story of Hull City's 1966 FA Cup tie at Chelsea - in the company of those who witnessed it https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/chelsea-hull-city-fa-1966-1214749
As most of you probably know I was at both games, what stood out on the day for me, apart from the come back in the second half at Stamford Bridge, (which is still up there as the best away day I have ever had), was picking up my mate at Willerby Square on my motor Bike, and it was snowing riding down Willerby road, but when we got to London on the coach it was a mildish spring like day. We stayed in London after the game, and was told by the organiser of the trip that we had to be back on the coach for mid-night, and the coach would leave bang on that time and anyone not there will be left. Who was the only one not back the organiser himself, so the bus left, only to see him flagging the bus down half way down the Kings road. P.S. Listening to Nigel, his last game for Southampton at Chelsea was also a 2-2 draw, so it has to be also a 2-2 draw tomorrow like.
We’ve gone from having no strikers to pretty much only having strikers Can’t wait for Abel to get back into things.
Mistake to play him for me He’s fragile (whatever the reason) No point in risking him in a pointless run out Maybe have him on the bench and only bring him on if we’re 2 up in the last 15mins
The account describes Waggy heading the first goal - as far as I remember he slid in at the far post and scored with his right foot. It was a great day out though and it was especially good to stun the Chelsea supporters and silence their "pussycat" taunts.
I witnessed the replay. Couldn't afford to go to Chelsea as an 11 year old. No streams in those days and no radio commentary either. Me and couple of mates had a game of three and your in instead, in the street of course. Remember the disappointment when my pals mother shouted out of the front door, 'Two nowt to Chelsea' then the excitement when she actually ran outside in the street and screamed 'Waggy's equalised, it's 2-2 now' ! The week dragged until the Thursday replay day which was also a school day. Unbeknown to us beforehand the headmaster announced in the morning assembly that any boys 'going to the football can leave at lunchtime' We'd never known that to happen before and all the school emptied when the 12'o'clock bell rang. We were on the Boothferry Park car park before 2.00pm urged on by rumours that the ground was already full, which it wasn't, the turnstiles were not even open but the car park was packed with fans already queueing, going back under the Railway Bridge, and onto Anlaby Road, both ways. We went to the 'boys only' turnstile and stood there for what seemed an eternity. Pushing and shoving, pinching an inch were we could, then with a sudden surge the tin doors flew open and we all filed through. Click, click..... The ground already looked full when we got in and I remember filtering through the packed terraces of the East Stand then realising that all the kids were climbing over the perimeter fence to sit on the benches which were still been carried out by the stewards. There were three of us and we got squeezed in on the front bench just off the half way line in front of the East Stand, what a view ! and we could even reach out and touch the turf. We all sat there for hours, no-one moved in case they lost their place on the bench. Abiding memories ? The greenness and lushness of the pitch, the increasing buzz from the crowd approaching kick off and the brightness of the floodlights when they were fully switched on. Chelsea scored a couple of early goals in the first half at the North Stand end which dampened our spirits a bit but the one stand out memory I still have is Chris Simpkins screamer into the top corner at the South Stand goal and the crowd reaction. Happy days.
Dunno what happened there! The reply should have read... Decent read that. City taking 8000 to Stamford Bridge and gates of over 45000 at both ties! Quite staggering figures for someone like me who has rarely seen City play in front of anywhere near such a figure. It's also depressing to think that there is a generation of football fans across the country who now consider the FA Cup to be the same sort of "inconvenience" that The Doc viewed this particular tie as back in 1966. Even in the dark days of the 70s/80s a decent Cup-tie would bring out the "floating" supporter and prompt the season's biggest gates. We were all "up for the Cup". Not anymore unfortunately
