I am currently feeling quite sad . After 40 years , this little independent record shop is closing . Was chatting to the owner a little while ago , ironically , it is Vinyl sales that has kept them afloat recently . **** you Amazon & Illegal down loads .
@luvgonzo we went October half term in 2016. First effort at a city break with the kids. They loved it.
We went in November 2016 . I loved it , but it was HEAVING . MRS J went the year before with one of her sisters in June and it was MUCH quieter . Seems the Italians go when it is cooler , and most holiday makers have left !
It’s not one I’d recommend if you’re not taking the kids. We wanted something family friendly, if you’re going with just Mrs Gonzo then the last thing you want in the hotel are a bunch of kids ruining the place!
The industry caused the illegal downloads and are the ones who have now meant that shops are closing. I remember going into shops and an album would cost £15 and this was 20 years ago it was no wonder people started looking at downloads. Things like Napster have now morphed into Spotify, you can get any album you want for the monthly fee.
Yeah it's sad, I love old record and book shops. Books are the only things I haven't gone digital with but I don't own a single cd or dvd.
You see , I have about 400 lp's at my parents , 200 or so cd's and dozens of Dvd's . Each to their own
not even sure it's that. I don't ever listen to music nowadays and if i do i just slap on youtube. I am a casual music listener though rather than a hardcore one.
