This stat is courtesy of ‘The Weekender’. I note that in The Squire’s heat Black Dave has run 3 times in class 6 races at Lingfield Park, when ridden by a non-apprentice or amateur pilot, and won all 3! Given this stat am somewhat shocked to see Black Dave, with Fran Berry up, available, currently at 16/1! Changing subject anyone like anything following the release of the Grand National weights yesterday???
Morning 2.40 Towcester Got it down to two Grand Introduction @ 9-4 [Stan James] & Colmers Hill @ 8-1 [Skybet] 1pt on each
He is the obvious one Pilgrim but I was looking for a bit more than the two even money shots today. I plumped for ZAKHAROVA at Musselburgh and MILANSTORM at Towcester, both each way! I very much doubt I will see either as I will be in the parade ring for one and the winners enclosure for the other!
Searching to see if I have a few half-crowns left, ah yes, just a few. So a mad e/w on Over My Head in the 2:40 at Towcester at the wild price of 50/1 with PP. Really am over-my-head at this game! Ridden by last Saturday's hero, Jack Quinlan. Maybe, just maybe. he can make the first two home? Good luck to you all today!
Good luck all concerned with Squire at Lingfield. I have to say that I think he will be up against it giving weight to two improving five year old mares that won last time out, but I have been wrong before... This comes with a rather obvious wealth warning, from a friend of a friend: Wolverhampton 6:45 Silvanus Apparently, despite being as old as the Welsh National winner, they think this is an each-way chance; however, since I cannot see it winning (you need to look a long way back in its record to find its last win on the sand), I am more inclined to go Place Only on the Nanny Goat and save the win stake.
Going for POETIC IMAGINATION here. Put up last time but the drop in trip obviously didn't suit. Hopefully beats the odds on shot.
Lets try cutting the niceties for once enough being nice and praising "good runs", Squire, and my horse Foxy Boy Friday, time to stop running with merit and to start winning and earning your crust, you want that fresh yummy grass, them succulent sugar cubes and that lovely soft silky hay, then cut the **** boys and go all the way and win no more "close runs", just do it boys!
Going to have a small ew on Viola Park in the first at Wolves, was in good form before the last run so hoping they have this one back.
Unlucky with squire stick could well have been bad ride by Stevie trying to lead the whole way....thoughts? Hope he comes well out the race mate
Air Of York here for me. Been running ok of late and on its penultimate run, narrowly missed a place at a big price so i'm taking my chance again
