If you want to do tourist like stuff then the gray line bus tours are pretty good. There's two routes and you can hop on hop off any time on a 1 or 2 day ticket. The Marina and Gaudi buildings are well worth a look at. Marina for the hugely expensive private yachts - Gaudi buildings are amazing. Don't get the norovirus the morning of the day you are supposed to be watching Barcelona play. Watch your wallets and phones all over the town. Loads of shady individuals working as groups identifying easy targets. A pissed up group of lads would I guess be very easy prey for wallet/phone thefts. Tapas wise go to Tapas 24. It is the place all the locals eat - Highly recommended and It was very busy and the food was excellent.
Are you too thick to realise I am not always trying to be funny? Go back and continue to spam the champions league thread. ta
Cheers. We're staying not far from the sagrada familia. So might have a jog round that. Going to see Barca v atletico Madrid on the Sunday, if I don't get the norovirus obvs!! Dennis and Ben can vouch for nobody trying to nick my Phone
Spent the last few years exploring Europes volcanoes. Would love to do a degree in Geology and Volcanology. Been up Vesuvius several times, Stromboli, Vulcano, Etna a few times. Also in Italy the "burning fields" Campi Fliegri. Last week I was in the Canaries walking the volcano route along the top of the island of La Palma. You may have seen articles about "Cumbre Vieja" in the news. An eruption on La Palma could cause a landslide that sends a mega tsunami across the Atlantic wiping out the eastern coast of USA. Find it really exhilerating to get out in the fresh air, and there is a bit of an adrenalin rush too. Although it was a shock landing at Gatwick at the weekend, from 24C sunshine to 1C horizontal rain in 4 hours.
Another year & it’ll be officially retro & worth a packet. If it was a car it’d be exempt from road tax.
You would "probably" be OK there, as Tenerife would shield you from the worst of it. Just ensure you have plenty of cold beers in the fridge....and that water stuff........in case the bars at ground level get damaged. All about the preparation.....
My dad was in the Bay of Naples on his ship when Vesuvius erupted in 1943. He had been up Etna whilst they were in Sicily. He was a brilliant artist and did a drawing of his ship from a high vantage point with Vesuvius in the background on a morse pad, a morse operator being his job. Really upset that I misplaced it along with his other drawings in between moves.
That is a shame, would have been great to see them. Naples and Catania in Sicily are possibly two of the dodgiest places I've been to.......but hey ho......when in....erm....Rome...
I just bought a house in Hornsea. Scarborough town next season for me unless the Allams bring back concessions. Probably take the two gran kids as well. Who needs Hull City eh? Behind closed doors OUT.
