I make 'em thick, can't stand a floppy pancake. Mrs Archer likes blueberries in hers, she's on a health kick. I made bacon ones last year with maple syrup. This year I'm going for chocolate chips with a Nutella filling.
Oh yes, I remember your views on pancakes from before. Needless to say, they were weird. Usual pancakes, lemon juice and sugar as per all fit and proper Englishmen.
'Nutella' and 'crap' are often to be seen in the same sentence, and rightly so. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
The yank ****ecakes may as well be used as drinks coasters. Traditional English pancakes for Englishmen! I will not be cowed into this new wave of panfakes.
Pancake thin & proper. Fillings from Lemon Flakes Various sweets Grated Chocolate Nutella Ice Cream Marshmallow Strawberries Chopped Nuts Banana Raspberries Blueberries Choc Sauce Maple Syrup
Not if you make them properly. My Dad used to make the floppy ones, covered in lemon juice. So it's scrambled egg, covered in lemon. Pass.
We have this every year but I'll do my usual piece: I'm not at all into the traditional pancake with lemon and sugar. I hate to be the 'everything foreign is better' hipster type, but American or Dutch style pancakes, with interesting stuff on them or the Turkish dish Gozleme (which isn't really a pancake but they call it that for tourists) can all be really tasty. Just lemon and sugar or just syrup seems like some wartime rationing situation to me. Boring as ****.
Yeah I really don't get your scrambled egg argument you trot out. Genuinely baffles me. They look and taste like pancakes. No one I know puts flour in when they make eggs.
If they were like scrambled egg then he’s making them wrong. I’m a golden syrup man and bloody love pancakes. Have em most weekend mornings ever since I realised how much better it is with a proper pancake pan.
