Really no use finishing off our players confidence, it serves no purpose. Hopefully a lot of these players will still be there when Wenger leaves. Sad to see we are turning on our players, a bit like how Spuds used to be! The problem imho is Arsene. You cannot tell me this is the same Xhaka that turns up for Switzerland, the same Ozil that plays for Germany, the same Iwobi that plays for Nigeria or the same Lacazette/Kos that plays for France (are the same players we are seeing in an Arsenal Jersey. Gone are the days when Wenger used to improve on raw talent - these days he appears to just destroy them. You look at the national teams our players for vs the Spuds and see which teams go further in any international tournament?

Our squad is filled with quality. Ozil is great. Laca is great. Kosc is great. However Xhaka and Iwobi are ****. And Wenger is really rotten gangrenous ****

Iwobi is far from bad. I've see what he can do when he's allowed play with freedom for us (Arsenal and Nigeria). He's a special talent. Remember when he first got brought into the first team squad. I would hate to see him in another teams colors. He's young with all the traits to be a top player for us. He one that is not scared to take players on. He's got a good touch and can see a pass. He creates. We just seem to want to dwell on the mistakes that shouldn't be surprise from young players.

Let's not kill his confidence here at Arsenal. I can't wait to see him express himself in Russia.

In Xhaka's case I think we might have just bought a dud, he's been bad from the very first game , it can't just be Wenger

Xhaka is actually a good player. But he's not really suited to our style/system. Technically he's excellent.

Under a different manager I could see him doing very well. At the moment he does'nt really know his place. Kinda reminds me of Lampard for England.

He plays nothing like Lampard. And his technique is very average. What games have you been watching?! I think we can all agree it's sometimes hard to judge our players given they managed by such a big pile of turd, but Xhaka is just rubbish and has been from the get go.

I never said he did play like Lampard. I'm comparing their situations.

Technically he's very good actually. There's a reason he had soo much hype surrounding him prior to his move to Arsenal. Also our best wins over the last two Seasons have come on the back of good Xhaka performances - thats not a coincidence. He's a good player with alot of potential.

But then it doesnt matter how good he is because he could never perform under Wenger.:emoticon-0105-wink:

What would you say he's good at and what system or style suits him?

I think he can play like a quatre-back type role. He's not a DM and I think giving him defensive mid responsibilies takes away from his natural game.

I would say sitting next to a DM or robust Box to Box player - Xhaka would be a great player to have pinging balls forward on the counter. Xavi Alonso style.

Do you think that you have the personnel to utilise him in that role?
What system would you use that would allow you to pick him, Wilshere, Ozil, Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang in the same side?

No - I think we dont get the best out of him or Ozil for that matter because we lack a quality Defensive midfielder.

I think with a bit of protection in front of the back four our creative players would have more confidence and freedom to play their natural games.

I agree with that. I think that Liverpool also have this problem.
I can't see how you'd fit Ozil, Wilshere and Xhaka into the same side as any new defensive midfielder, though.

We should just buy a proper holding midfielder and sell Xhaka.
