http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12874_7123489,00.html Tottenham are reportedly poised to sign highly-rated Juventus winger Iago Falque on loan. Reports in Spain claim Falque is due in London to undergo a medical before sealing a season-long move to White Hart Lane. Juventus have only allowed the loan move to go through after agreeing a new deal with the Spaniard which will see the player contracted to the Italian giants until 2014. Spurs were keen on signing the Spain Under 21 international on a permanent basis, but Juve were not willing to sell the talented attacker. Falque is highly-regarded at Juventus, but the 21-year-old is well down the pecking order at the Turin club and he spent last season on loan at Villarreal B. A number of Spanish clubs including Rayo Vallecano, Celta Vigo and Levante all expressed an interest in signing Falque this summer, but the player has decided to move to Tottenham. Falque's father has confirmed his son is relishing the challenge of joining Tottenham for the 2011/12 season. "Iago loves big challenges and this with Spurs is very important," said Falque Snr. "It will be hard, but he will fight for his place." NSIS do you know anything about him?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iago_Falqué_Silva According to wiki the loan is a done deal with a view to buy at the end of it. On August 25, 2011 Falque signed for Tottenham on a season-long loan from with an option to buy if spurs can meet the buy out clause for the start of 2012-2013 season Juventus. I know its wiki but who has posted this?
I just saw this too Perry. I was going to commend you on the speed you managed to post this onto not 606, but the rate in which wikipedia has changed the guy's details already, has completely done you! does anyone know anything about this guy?
i don't get what the point is? when is this guy ever going to play? our transfer activity i nothing but baffling this summer.
Why are we interested in another winger when other areas require more urgent attention, sounds like we`ve been after another winger for a while with the reported interest in Mata. I suppose being U21 wont affect the 25 man squad rules.
Somebody please wake me up when, No..sorry..IF, one of our supposed deals actually goes through. Oh, and if it's Joe ****ing Cole, please don't bother. I'm depressed enough as it is.
I thought Levy was in the US,did he make a detour to Italy for this. I, like nearly everyone is getting seriously p-----d off with this. If I wasn't so loyal, I would think about taking the season off and watching lower leagues instead.
Is that just because of Spurs or the premierleague in general? I've found myself caring a bit less about the whole thing over the last couple of years. The wages, tantrums and sheikhs are ruining football in my opinion.
couldn't agree more, especially the recent goings on at city. We thought chelsea were bad when abramovich arrived, but it's on a whole new level now. it's just boring. same sh*t, different day.
Spurfectionist, it is (unfortunately) the club. We used to be in the forefront of major signings in years gone by, now it seems like a dirty word. I am currently reading the Bill Nicholson story and it seems that he was like this and the club it seems still wants to be always in the black no matter how it affects the performances of the team!
True supporting Spurs is very painful and soul destroying. The corrupt regimes have taken the heart out of our game. I wish I could take the hurt away. That doen't excuse the mess of a club ours is.
Come on guys, chins up. Spurs aren't in that much of a mess. We have a bunch of reserve players that would walk into most other teams in the prem. Yeah, we haven't signed anyone, but they're trying, that i am convinced of. Maybe they are setting their sights too high and are failing to complete deals due to bigger clubs with higher wage budgets coming in (Young, Mata etc etc). Harry must be even more frustrated than we are. If Levy had any hair he'd probably be tearing it out. The man utd game wasn't great (understatement) but it was our first game, away to the champions who have strengthened this summer. I think there should be another competition for clubs run responsibly and with little or no debt. Maybe let the others **** off into a european playboy super league ****e fest thing. Other than a worldwide wage cap i don't know what to do about these cretinous players though.
Ok. rant coming up!! I've followed this club for over 50 years now. Through the glory days - all the false dawns, even relegation. What frustrates me at the moment is that we currently have one of the best squads we have had in many, many, years. If we fail to push on now. If we fail to build, to invest, then the inevitable will happen. We will stagnate, and then slowly slide back into mid-table obscurity, as all our top players desert the ship. We may never have such an opportunity, as we have now, to become a regular challenger for top honours, for another quarter of a century, or more. By which time, I'll either be brown bread - or wondering where I left my false teeth. Carpe Diem, Levy. Or I sincerely believe you'll regret it in the future.
Don't get me wrong, I will never give up on my beloved Tottenham. But it's just soul destroying. The world is in such a bad economic state as we all know, but football is a 90 min game where we should be able to forget about any of this and just enjoy the game we all love. Football is about 22 men competing on a grass pitch kicking a spherical ball. sadly, the money involved in the industry has affected the sport, right down to pitch level. when you've got players who are contracted to play, earning in excess of £50,00 p/w and you are able to hear the excuse of "his head isn't in the right place"... well.... it's just disgusting. it should never have been able to get to this and really does make you wonder how long it can go on for, before one by one clubs will start going out of existence.
I concur, in fact I could have written that whole rant myself (only substituting 30 odd years for 50) Hmmmm... people are really starting to sound more and more like me every day.
