It is quite Spanish. But as Sky says, there’s some decent nightlife there. And the San Juan playa is cool.
Oh yeah I'm not saying it's a viable trip or anything just that it fascinates me Mind wandering a bit as I've just got in from work.
No there’s tourists, and expats who live here go shopping and clubbing and stuff. It’s just not your typical holiday resort as such.
If you opt against Spain mate I'd recommend Malta for a little breakaway (if you haven't already been). Went there in March last year with a couple mates for a long weekend. Beautiful little island, wish I stayed longer as I didn't get to explore everything that some of the lads on here recommended to me, I'm hopefully looking to go back later on this year at some point for a longer spell. All speak English and everywhere I went it was all written in English so was easy to get about. No drama either, locals seemed chilled as ****.
About 10 years ago that was looking like a real possibility at one point. Zac who has a few kebab shops around here was building a home over there and asked me, my brother and another one of our good mates to go over there. We didn't fancy it because of all the trouble that was going on at the time across the border in Afghan. We just assumed we'd be hated for being Brits and that some ****er would let the Taliban know we were there. We've known him for years and he assured us that we would be safe and welcomed.
I would start with countries where you are less likely to get mugged, raped and eaten (and not necessarily in that order) first. It tends to ruin a good holiday. I read somewhere that Port Moresby was voted the 3rd worst city in the world to live in a global survey of expats. It was narrowly beaten by Baghdad and Kabul. I have to go to POM regularly - last time I was there there was a bloke selling crocodiles outside the shopping mall.
Get it booked, it’s the perfect destination for what you want on this trip, you’ll have a blast there.
If you really fancy Spain then try Palma. Fantastic city and the island isn't massive so you can get about quite a bit from there. Easy Jet fly there. As do Flybe from Southampton.
Haven’t been there for a few years, but it was pretty pricy compared to Alicante last time I went. Same with the Ibiza
Looking at buying a new mattress, anyone got one of those mattress in a box jobs that are being pushed hard at the minute? I’m tempted but they’re not cheap.
