Nah, remember Moran scoring a hatrick against Rotherham, and settling locally, Nicky Featherstone however managed 8 appearances in about 8 years and scored nowt.
Although I remember Moran quite well, I found those stats from his wiki. One thing I do remember is him being interviewed and him recounting the actual day he retired. "I went home, sat down with my wife and just burst into tears". Professionals have a wonderful life, but I suppose that just makes it all the harder to retire.
I wish I could un-remember Chris Lee....quite simply the worst footballer for City I have ever seen. If only he had Ash's leadership and pointing skills, he would have gone far
Malcolm Murray, I think we signed him from Hearts for about 30k, left back if memory serves. There always seemed to be a lot of kids with potential, but when they came through, they were very poor. Gary Bradshaw, but went onto Ferriby, so probably not one for this thread. Tim Hotte is another who just popped into my mind too.
for some reason, I remembered him playing more. I think he didn't get so many chances as Roy Greenwood was more-or-less a permanent fixture in his preferred position. There was a lad called Dave Stewart knocking around at the same time as well. Anyway, a couple more names for the mix: Gareth Stoker. Ray Pettit.
Nicky Mohan. Also anyone remember Gary Ablett & Richard Shaw on loan for us before they became famous at their respective clubs?
Point proven right there.......it was indeed Curtis and not Chester who replaced him, thing is he was a good player, but I can barely remember anything about his 3 years with us
He hadn't. His Wikipedia page makes it look like that, but the vast majority of his appearances can after that spell. And Malcolm Murray came on loan which was turned permanent. He'd played in Europe for Hearts. He was dreadful for Hull City. Mark Herman eulogised his back passes in a brilliant piece for Hull, Hell and Happiness at the time.
There was a kid who knocked them in for fun for the juniors & reserves, Ellington, Lee I think. Then got in the first team & was like the rest, couldn’t hit a barn door with a cow’s arse! Gavin Gordon scored a couple of goals then was sold, was it Swansea or York? Or am I thinking of Clayton Donaldson?
looked at his record in more detail now and see that my memory has failed. put it down to a senior moment then, I really thought he had.
He was Nathan Ellington's cousin, he scored for fun in non-league, but never got another opportunity at a league club.
