I really don't think we're going to be sacking him.

Yeah I think they keep him until the summer personally, can't see him staying into next season regardless of survival or not. Think the board are taking the approach that it is best to make big changes like that in the summer and there are usually more options around then.

Yeah can see big changes from board to playing staff tbh. Massive ones if we go down as most of the squad would leave I reckon, but lets worry about that if/when we go down.

It’s a shame that you had to go through that. Hope your friend’s elbow is nothing more than bruising.
I love the way you have described your wife’s height, “4’10 and three quarters”.
My wife is 5’2 AND A HALF, never forget the half. <laugh>

Yeah hope they're okay Beddy, never nice to hear. We do seem to have a lot of twats in our support at present.

Where was this out of interest?

As has been said by many, the first half performance was fairly decent, despite the early set back of conceding a goal that should have been avoided.
Our biggest problem, and it has been our biggest problem for two seasons, is needing so many chances to score, especially when we are in the ascendancy.
We had three decent opportunities to get back to all square, before Liverpool scored their second, but as too often happens, we didn’t take them.
Second half, for me, turned when Lemina was taken ill and went off.
I said a week or so ago that I hoped we would be better able to pick up points away from home, simply because the away fans offer better support than the home fans, so having so many away games to come could be of benefit to us.
    The hope still remains.

Hm. Not sure you get to be 3rd in the PL, and knockout stages of the CL, with a "bog average" midfield.

I don't think they have one player in their squad who isn't a technically proficient footballer. They don't have a Steve Gerrard character in there, if that's what you mean. But they can all play, and they can all read the game quickly, which is what it's really all about at this level.

Our fan base has changed a lot since we returned to the Premier, looking around the Kingsland yesterday there were many new faces, none wearing any form of Saints apparel. These appear to be fans of the Premier League and not Saints Supporters as such. They will all be gone if we drop down to the Championship. We also have inherited a bunch of numbnuts who seem determined to drag our reputation in to the gutter, they are getting what they deserve and hopefully won't be missed if they desert if the worst happens.

I don't understand - you are baffled that the manager didn't get the sack after losing to Liverpool? Did you expect anything mych different to yesterdays result?

If Pellegrino was going to get the sack, it would have happened right after Christmas - it didn't, so it's obvious we were going to stick with him.

A question for you - is it Pellegrino's fault we had no ****ing pace anywhere on the pitch in the first half yesterday?
Then he brings on the one player who does have pace, and gets jeered at by some of the "fans" in the Northam.

Can seems to be a marmite player with the fans I know, but they are enjoying the emergence of the Ox and see Wijjy (as he is inevitably called) as an unsung hero - one of those grafters without whom no team can manage and is liked by players and knowledgeable fans. One of my mates reckons he's a modern day Danny Murphy. A lot of Reds thought they played better with DM than without him. They feel the same about Wijjy. These are fans who go every week. There are "Liverpool fans" in our local who aren't sure how to get to the Mersey Tunnel and they think he's crap.

If we go down, as seems likely, we better get rid of him straight after the last match as he has the ability to take us straight through to div one.

Understand the sentiment...but have to disagree with a couple of points.

As a season ticket holder who never wears any form of Saints apparel, I don't consider myself any less a Saints fan, than one that collects all of the shirts, has "Saints" tattooed across their forehead, and has named their kids after the starting line up of the '76 Cup Final. If I bought a half-and-half scarf, would that make me more of a fan?

Also, I sit with a group of season ticket holders who have been going, non-stop since the 70's and 80's, and to listen to them for 90 minutes you'd think they're the numbnuts that you've described; they WILL still be there if the worst happens.

Sorry...had to moan about something, and everybody has moaned about our second half; just thought I'd try a different approach.

I don’t know I would take any of their CM over ours. I’d take their manager though!

I tend to dress fairly annonymous myself this time of year, I have the badge on my shirt and a hat covered in metal Saints badges, which I don't always wear and I am not very animated, but I do chat about the game and would never be mistaken for a neutral or opposition fan...

There is no stigma attached to people that go to St Marys to watch the football, nor is it an obligation to wear Saints regalia! My point is that there are more casual fans using seats not taken up by ST's. Many of these soon get bitten by the bug, and their money is always welcome.

I am not referring to the moaners in my description of numbnuts, but to those that chant abusive messages and boo our own players and staff or ex players. Nothing wrong in having an opinion, it is about how you express it.
