It was 4-4-2 Mind you, Leicester won the league playing 4-4-2, so ****it, why not? Wtf is a trequartista? Like a 3/4 in Rugby Union? Don't think Gabbi is quick or powerful enough (Shane Long is though, he probably should have played rugby).
Yeah, the passing and movement has not been great all season. Thing is, to pass through a Liverpool midfield requires a level of technical ability, and creativity of thought and movement, that our players just don't have (Tadic and perhaps JWP excepted).
In Italian football, as creative, technical, advanced playmakers are known not to be reserved to a single position, they are often described as the "fantasista" or "trequartista". In Brazil, the offensive playmaker is known as the "meia atacante", whereas in Argentina, it is known as the "enganche". It's all very fancy I think the English version is "the **** that plays up front".
Sadly mate we have all met the football hooligans at sometime...........It was the sign of the times at one stage. Trust me the ones that set upon you are not and never would or considered to be true scousers even by Liverpudlians themselves. Every town, city in the world have got their bigots and idiots. We have here in Southampton thats for sure. Young people who think it is great to pick fights. 5 or 6 against 2 or 3. People who pick out vulnerable people because they look old or young. Yes even picking on the ladies. Sadly I experienced this on Sunday evening My wife met her friend from Liverpool on Sunday Lunchtime. Although she is not interested in football she thought she would come down with her husband and friend and while the boys watched football she thought she would catch up with my wife. I met up with them Sunday evening in town. There was a few Scousers in the pub just leaving as I drew up. Down the road there was a group of Southampton yobs (by their accent and Saints shirts) The long and short of it was they started pushing a young lad around from of a group of 3 scousers. I intervened and they ran away. I turned around to walk back to my car to find another group harassing my wife and friends. I ran back just as one of them kicked out at my wife. He missed her and kicked my car leaving a dent in the wing! The next thing he knew he was on his back screaming in pain holding his face and a very painful side!! I went round to the front of the car to be confronted by a lad of around 16 who up till then had been pushing my wife's friend around when she tried to protect her husband who was on the ground. He came towards me then spotted his mate lying on the ground. He was around the same height but he just put his hands up and ran off after the rest of the group. His mate on the ground did the same although he had quite a lot of Red stuff on his scarf and his new Saints football shirt. He was also walking with a limp.......I truly cant think why...... I do not believe we have any Saints fans of that sort on this Forum. Just in case we have any ........never under estimate we oldies with white hair and a few wrinkles......Especially those with military training. No matter how old we are most of us are more than a match for most of you cowards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a coincidence my experience yesterday..... St Kreuzberg...... I agree and can understand your dislike of Scousers but trust me those that you mentioned were not true scousers just as those idiots that I came across yesterday were not true Saints fans nor Hampshire hogs we in the central south seem to be called. However thats what makes life interesting does it not.........debating each opinion..........
Hope your wife's alright mate, and her friend. And I hope the bloke you lamped is feeling sore this morning.
Let's make a pact (and the team and manager can join in)....if (scrub that....when) we get out of this, let's not get in this position again. It has stopped being funny now....this is like being the old Saints (as I joined in in the nineties after the glory years were over)* and I prefer the new Saints. *Ps I exclude MLT from that....worth any suffering to see him play.
Well at least our goal difference didn't take a battering. I've got a feeling that may prove crucial at the end of the season.
Agreed, although MP2 said sorry for the second half and the teams lack of character. He said it wasn’t acceptable and there wasn’t enough effort, so it wasn’t just the fans seeing that, and just simply being beaten by a better team. The players seemed to accept we were being beaten by a better team. Rest of the post I agree with, re survival by beating the worse teams.
Thanks mate.....yes my wife's ok.......She is only 4'10 and three quarters but trust me she is no slouch. The bloke in question already had a sore face from her slap before I got to him. Coincidentally as I was typing I received a text from Liverpool. My wife's friend's husband is just off to the A&E his elbow has swollen badly after yesterdays incident.
Glad you put that. I thought it, but have said it so often I thought it might cause eye rolling. In a season like this, GD could be the difference of a crucial place or two.
Fair point well made, I'll retract that as it's not fair on the drivers. Was just trying to convey how little I think of people like that. Embarrassing.
Sad to hear about your friend, but glad you taught them a lesson....looking and feeling stupid could be as valuable a life lesson as actually being thumped.....though I expect the story they are recounting will differ from yours. You will miraculously have turned into a giant (or two) when recounting the tale to their Mum. Hope your friend is better soon.
Whenever I look at the table I think it may be our saviour, the difference between 17th and 18th. I'll be glad when this season is over irrespective of where we end up. Then we can look forward to next season instead of all this near constant gloom.
I must confess to being limp and flaccid all the time and I do not even have recourse to that magic little pill.
People moan when the owners are absent and moan when they are seen to take an interest. I don't know at what stage that photo was taken, but they are hardly all beaming. I'm glad they are getting together....hope they had some serious discussions.
