Just had a report to write for work. Decided to watch the game first. Mistake Interesting you think I’d be despondent- far from it really. I didn’t think we’d get anything from this game, so my position is the same as yesterday lunchtime; it’s about March. I think most of the despair is because of other results and we are sat bottom three. It’s psychological. It is so tight still that a win jumps you up the table. The 6 games of Burnley, Stoke, West Ham, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Swansea will determine our season. A lot of results went against us this weekend, but it is what we do that will matter and those games are the key. If we win three of those I think we’ll stay up. Four and we definitely will. I know form Isn’t good, but there is no point people posting about form or how many we’ve won todate; this is football and things like this can happen. If we play like we did against WBA in those 6 games, then we can do it. Time will tell.
You would really have taken a heavier defeat with some fight???? Not for me. We were very poor second half but got away with a 2-0 defeat that could prove beneficial come May. I’ll take every bit of fortune we can get and yesterday we were fortunate Liverpool weren’t clinical second half. I’ll stay in hope until it’s too late. Blue line. Next game please.

Jeez, FLT. I bloody hate you at times. You are so often right, it's annoying. It was a weird game. Liverpool were so much in cruise control in the second half it was embarrassing. Your comments about Boufal I 100% agree with. When he ran at WBA he caused havoc,regardless of the goal. Had he not scored, he could have won a free kick, dragged players out of position so that a Saints player could have won a second ball .. anything, really. The central defenders of Liverpool are good, but no defender likes players who run at them with pace. How often did/does Mane lose the ball, but he always forces defenders to do something. Dare I say Redmond can do this? But Boufal can do it in spades. He has to play in those must win games against teams not as well equipped as Liverpool or we can start looking at train times for Norwich. As Gordon used to say, it's time to be brave.
Not many positives from the game. I'd hoped our record signing could at least trap a football but i was disappointed. Keep the games coming i say, we need to get some consistency.
I think you have every right to be upset and losing your ****. You have a tactically inept manager and it's clear for all to see that quite a few of your players just aren't pulling their weight. Don't even get me started on the atmosphere yesterday.
Obsessions over formation title are silly. I'd want Gabbiadini to be playing close behind Carrillo in that setup, so that he can make runs from deeper positions, pick up balls that had bounced off him (he seems to be fairly good at having balls bounce off him), all that good stuff. There: it's no longer a 4-4-2, it's a 4-2-3-1 with Gabbiadini playing as a trequartista. All is well in the world. As for sneering at the manager, when you win 1 league match in 14, people will second-guess your decision-making. Such is life.
On a positive note; thought Lemina was a class & a half above all our players yesterday & won't be surprised to read Gareth Crooks salivate about how he should be playing for a better club again later today Seriously though; how good was he? Seemed to be everywhere & instrumental in everything good; certainly going forward. I read he was sick yesterday & that was why he was taken off - true? If that was the case, how good would have he been running on just "ok" !! Ps. And early goals ? Wtf is going on there? LFC 6mins, WBA 4, Brighton 14, Spurs 18 ? Talk about making it an uphill battle.
There is nothing I can say anymore really. We’ve all been saying it every week for over half a season... the manager is completely useless, and we are useless whilst he is still here. If lemina is out for any length of time, we are in massive, massive trouble.
Bookies watch ! - there are now 7 teams who th bookies think will go down rather than us. Don`t know how they work that out.
I believe we will beat stoke and Bournemouth....and hopefully some draws away, so should be ok.....however this is saints so anything can happen

Lots of talk about tactics but what worries me is the lack of linkup between our players. Bertand and Tadic have some understanding but other than that there is basically none. Some of the passing, even the simple stuff yesterday was awful. And this is from a manager that keeps stressing the importance of links between players.
Benz has just smashed a fantastic goal right into the top corner for Switzerland against Japan in the womens ice hockey. You guys could have done with finishing like that yesterday.
After some of the results yesterday I could have expected anything from 1-0 to us, a draw or a 1 or 2 goals loss. I just didn't want to lose by a lot of goals, so I accept that result. I'm beginning to suspect we are being taunted by the fates....we have virtually no luck....all our results are what we deserve or less than we deserve. I want fate to chuck us one of those unexpected, 'wow what happened there' results that the other teams are getting. And yet....fate being at her cruellest....we are still close enough for hope to flicker. By this time, there are usually 2 teams virtually adrift and only one place left to fight to avoid....this season it could be 3 from half the league.
