The team did enough. The point was to win and that was done comfortably. I had feared a better tighter Southampton but as soon as the match started I realised that they were going to play an open passing game. I knew we would win and quite easily. Mistakes in their half of the pitch would be punished by our fast attack.

yeah that one might happen if he improves his spatial awareness

he's strong enough for it. imo ragnar leaves when his contract is up as frankly the lad will never get same wages elsewhere

if anything we want to be looking at clyne and Moreno as weak bench options and replace lol.... please...

After a couple of good games I'm back to being disappointed with AOC, he was lost in that midfield yesterday and along with Wijnaldum the reason Southampton had some possession in the first half. Wijnaldum dug in and had a decent second half but I was glad when AOC got hooked.

Totally agree. TAA and Robertson are good players, Gomez is decent cover on the right but we have nothing on the left.

Robertson is not brain dead as least. he's got energy but yesterday opened more questions on him imo.

he's decent but.... I think lb should be somewhere lower on klopps lists of buys still.

cm, gk, cover up top, cb? lb?

let's see if Robertson improves more. he's decent but I'm greedy

Would you think similar if in the future Suarez or Coutini do the same?

Everyone makes mistakes but in general he does his job at the back and going forward. Wasn't his best game yesterday but that's fine.

Of course not he'd be burned at the stake. That's footy fans for you though.

I think Gomez is the better player tbh. What’s happened to Clyne? I know he had a bad injury but what is it and when’s he back?

Gomez better at the moment but most think he'll be a CB in time.
Clyne I have no idea but there are loads of crazy rumours flying about regarding a drugs test failure.

It would annoy the hell out of me but fair play. Players with big bollocks.

TAA would be wasted at right back. He is an intelligent footballer, really classy on the ball and has the vision as well.

Agree - at least we have some decent cover at full back now.

Midfield needs a revamping. Yesterday was crying out for someone to get on the ball and keep it. Far too many stray passes and giving the ball away needlessly.

Keita will be a step forward in the right direction but a deep lying playmaker is much needed.

Keeping the ball is a skill alien to the english premier league

If we are looking at klopps grand plan we might say:

    GK: karius :emoticon-0132-envy:
RB: TAA in 2 years or less
LB: Robertson? not the worst not the best
    RCB: ?
    LCB: VVD
    No 6: ?
    CM: Kieta
    CM: ? ox?? lallana??
    LW Mane
    ST: Firmino
    RW: Salah

If klopp plays henderson at no 6 then more is needed at no 8 than ox

Out issues as i see them then are going to come in the cover areas

    Mingolet will leave
    RB: Clyne
    LB: moreno is rubbish
RCB: depends which lump of crap klopp keeps
    LCB: Lovren
No 6: ?? needs to buy
    CM: milner getting old, windy.
    CM: grujic/lallana
    LW: woodburn
St: solanke/ings/origi if not all sold.
    RW: ox

Its getting closer in firsts to what he wants but the reserves are lacking.

IMO he needs another forward now as sturrdige, coutinho and of course the great ings go.
Midfield is an issue that one player alone won't fix but people need to move on to fix it.
    Defence looks mixed
    GK is a real issue

    Anything can yet happen <ok>

My honest to go thought watching you yesterday was why not 2 up front?

That new lad needs time. gaddiadini has vansihsed and shane long can't score but get 2 up and get two wide and just go for it.

Romeu and whoever will just have to hold in front of that disastrous CB pairing and then bomb the two good full backs on

Your strength is wide so put two up and exploit it. Just go for it now.

the good thing is the games coming up are not too bad so a few wins and you are away but the lack of fight second half would be worrying me.

TBH , I have fallen out of love with Football , I am still a Saints fan , but no longer go to games .

My main interest in sport now is F1 , have seen you on that forum .

Money is killing sport in general IMHO and I don't know what the answer is !

Yeah I agree, I enjoyed my last trip to Anfield to a point but I'll never sit in that new stand again, it's detached from the pitch and the old part of the ground but it's needed for a club of our size. To me though it's all about the money and it's one more thing that is driving me away from the game. I love our managers enthusiasm at the moment as much as rival fans might think he's a dickhead he's one of the few things that keep me coming back and holds my interest as he's just a footy fan at heart.

The TV bidding wars and the transfer sagas are horrible, some fans are more interested in the money side than the actual games and then you have the FIFA generation who think they know all about players because their FIFA stats are great.
