    It’s my fault.

I have a nice red leather Apple iPhone 8+ case.

I have put it on my phone 4 times. I think FLT, LTL and LL have seen it (it fitted my iPhone 7+ too).

We have lost every game I have put it on my phone....Milan, Wembley and St Mary’s. I promise to never put it on my phone on match day ....

For me there were so many things wrong with today.

We tried to play Liverpool at their own game - trying to pass out of defence against the best pressing team in the league.

Having just beaten WBA last week, we played like a team who never even considered the possibility of getting something out of the game.

Any time we win the ball back in a good position, our default pass is 'back to the back four - retain possession at all costs', rather than 'can we exploit this situation?'

There is an apparent lack of passion and desire within the team. Compared to our team of the 90s we are clearly a more able team now, but the 90s team has desire in bucket-loads and a pride for the shirt.

Why not pick that team? We’re not exactly doing fantastically well with the ones MP is picking!

(Though in fairness, our first half performance was decent enough to trouble teams around us).

Yeah, that's not a crazy team. It involves exactly one change from today's starting lineup, swapping an attacker for one of our three defensive mids.

Its pretty pathetic to highlight one part of one sentence and attempt to quote it out of context. If thats the best you can come up with: put me on ignore. Move on.

Like seriously, it’s a little strange that we lost the first half 2-0, while the second half was 0-0 and that is the half everyone is complaining about.

I did not see the team give up. We just got beaten by a better team. It’s easy to make adjustments when you have the superior talent and you are up 2-0 to boot. And then we lost Lemina.

You guys say we shouldn’t have given up the advantage (despite the score) in the second half. I say we probably should never have had it to begin with. That team was crazy fast and can run for days. It’s no surprise that we wore down. They got their **** together in the second half, basically.

McCarthy had a good game in goal. I thought the defense was better in the second half, but too little, too late.

Forget about MP and the relegation situation for a second. If we were in tenth place facing this side, I would still expect us to lose. So It’s a bummer we lost, and our situation is a bit dire. But realistically, this was the expected result. Our path to survival is beating the West Broms and Stokes, not beating Liverpool.

My curiosity is out of control at this scenario http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sa...ned_by_Krueger_and_Liebherr_in_China/?ref=rss

It is simply unfathomable that these people with 300m or whatever invested in the club just watch us play and .. what, Pat each other on the back? ?Shrug and move on? Mutter about something needing to change and then move on? I could never claim to be in tune with the super rich but to take this photo opportunity at this moment in time.. I don't know what to make of it.

Nelly - "We're not very good are we."
    Awkward pause.
Ralph - "This Kung Pao Chicken on the other hand, simply Spectacular! Your country has the best cuisine and the best New Years, did you know I was an Hockey player - on Ice?"

    I’m curious as well.

I am cutting the owners a bit of slack as it would not surprise me if they were a bit cash poor right now as far as their spending on the club. Also, while I’m sure this was not what was expected or hoped for I don’t think it’s that wise to go in guns blazing.

The club may need a retool starting from the top. If so, it does no good to pay crazy money for a crap player recommended to you by your crap scouts. And who will want to leave if we are relegated anyway.

I can’t honestly say it is a bad idea to just let the chips fall where they may, and if we get relegated then clean house, sell all the players for decent cash, come up with a new philosophy and then put your money towards that.

But that’s what I am curious about. Not why they haven’t done anything, but rather now having talked with people, seen the team, etc. what are they planning? Are they going to pull a Man City or Chelsea? Just run us as a yo-yo type club for probably modest revenue? Market us to China? Would love to know their plan.

All-hands meeting to finalize the five pledges, I'd imagine. Lack of pledges has really been hampering us in recent months, so a big step forward there.

Guess it's bad experience, Worked in Cammell Laird shipyard on quite a few occasions now for odd jobs here and there down the years and never really enjoyed it. Just always hated Liverpool as a kid and remember the Everton game at Highbury in the semi final when it all kicked off and my dad and I were set upon walking away from the ground (I was 13 at the time). So sorry met a few "real" scousers in my time and my opinion has not changed,

There is a lot of sense in the post but it is worth recalling that in the past we have had a really good go at teams like Liverpool. We played well in the first half and we unfortunate to be 2-0 down. However, it was not a particularly great Liverpool performance either I think we should have questioned them more.

As far as MP 2 is concerned, it is the same cut and paste comments on the matchday thread again. Continually playing one up front at home is not going to win you matches, especially if you have been proved incapable of making the changes to tactics and / or substitutions to turn a performance around. Making the same mistake during every home game is pretty unforgiveable and deeply worrying for the remaining fiixtures. For once, I have to agree with Merrington's comment that MP2 is "tactically inept." Even in the post match interview the explanation for substituting JWP defied logic. Adam Blackmore should have been far harder and uncompromising in his questioning - MP2's position cannot be tenuous much longer. I think the fact that Carrillo made little impression in the match is an indictment of the manager more than the player. Yet again, no support for the striker.

Nothing like going over the top. It’s not like you SF4L. Second half was very poor but the first half we were pretty good apart from the shocking defending for the goals.

They caused us problems when they hd the ball and ran at us. Ironically their number 19 on a couple of occasions. I’ve said it time and time again. We will not beat teams if we do not do something to break down their defensive shape. This means someone running from midfield with the ball, directly at them. Boufal can do that. Bringing him on part way through a game is. It the answer. Too many times yesterday we played the safe ball when in their final third.

Please play Boufal for the remaining games and play him CAM not wide. Forgive him when he loses it but allow him the opportunity to try and cause havoc. Don’t stick him wide whee it is easier to over crowd him.

...and the Brighton’s, Huddersfield’s, Newcastle’s, Bournemouth’s, Swansea’s but we: didn’t/can’t. Left speechless again at St Mary’s yesterday. I went into the game expecting defeat but hoping for something special. They did play quite well first half other than the obvious defensive shambles but to come out 2nd half with absolutely no desire, appetite for a fight was unforgivable. I would have taken losing by a much heavier scoreline if we had shown any ounce of a sign that we may have realised we are sleepwalking to relegation. We should have been all over Liverpool, in their faces, leaving the odd challenge in. As it was we gave them the easiest pre Champions League warm they could ever have wished for.
