Would people have Modric back ?? In an Edgar Davids role (to help guide the development of players such as Winks) .
I know Josh Onamah would be happy. Recently named him as his favourite player in an article for AV. No Harry Kane in that team list...... but Hazard!! Maybe he won’t be coming back.....
Bale looks broken thanks to all his injuries, while he's enjoyed phenomenal success at Real, he himself hasn't improved as a player in my opinion. Real fans haven't seen the player we saw in his final season with us, THAT Bale was sensational. Modric is world class but reaching an age where he'll likely decline in a year or two, though don't get me wrong, a "passed his best" Modric is still better than 99% of CMs. I personally wouldn't really want them back after the way they departed, it left a really sour taste how they refused to train and became nuisances (Modric even acknowledged this in a recent interview) BUT for the benefit of the team then of course I'd take them back, they're superb players. Reality is though it'll never happen, I can't see Real selling Modric as he's still crucial to them, while Bale would still command a ridiculous amount of money in fees and wages.
Apparently Toby hasn't been included in the squad travelling to Italy tomorrow. Make of that what you will but being the pessimist I am, I am bracing myself for a summer departure. Contract talks have been ongoing since last season. The player clearly doesn't want to commit himself to the club. He has 1 year left on his current deal. If his head and heart aren't in it anymore, sell now and earn top dollar for him. If Van Dick just went for £75m I'd say Toby on a 1 year contract is worth at least £50m. Use the money to reinvest in the defense; although Dave Sanchez will be even better next season so we may only need to use the money to sign back-up. The rest can go on proper cover for Kane. Don't get me wrong, I'll miss the guy loads. But Jan remains by far and away my favourite CB at the club and I can sense a combined Levy-Poch ruthlessness in this instance. It is unheard of for Levy to allow a key senior player to run down their contract to such an extent. Of course the simpler explanation is that he suffered a bit of pain after the Newport game and Poch won't risk him but whispers are gathering that all isn't well and most of those who are whispering are Spurs ITK's, not the usual hacks.
: I've long believed that he's leaving this summer. I'm hoping that him missing the Juve game is due to us taking things cautiously and that he'll give of his best until the end of the season. However, the manner of Kyle Walker's departure points to Mauricio Pochettino taking it personally and despite everyone remembering the line from Michael Corleone.....about it not being personal, only business, the real line comes later from Don Vito: “It’s all personal, every bit of business. Every piece of **** every man has to eat every day of his life is personal. They call it business. OK. But it’s personal as hell.” Mario Puzo and Mauricio Pochettino don't just share initials.
If he doesn't want to stay then sell him. At least he ain't sign a new contract and then demanded a move like Berbatov, Keane, Modric and Bale. Shame if it's true but **** happens.
Ahh right, just thought when the term ITK was used it was for real reasons. Are they just ITKs in their own head like many other reporters/tweeters etc?
Precisely that. Makers of 2 + 2 = 4444, from what what meagre crumbs of gossip they find. In Spurs 606 land we have seen two true ITKs. Spurcat, who was (still is ?? ) in the employ of the club. And looklikemodric (JA606) . looklikemodric was most epic, because he caused a superb sh*t storm within Spurs Community ITKs (he knew so much more than they collectively did that their deluded egos could not deal with it - so they initially proclaimed him as a fake ) .
We unfortunately have the biggest bellends on the planet who claim to be ITK. There's a notorious site, called Spurs Community which has an ITK section, the **** that gets spouted on there and treated as gospel is a joke. You genuinely get **** like: "Can't say the name for obvious reasons as the club is being extremely discreet so my info comes from high up but we're working on someone big, will turn heads and make the whole world notice, going to be hard to get done though so a chance it won't come off"... That, THAT **** gets classed as ITK.
Just thought CK saying "most of those who are whispering are Spurs ITK's, not the usual hacks" meant real people
To be fair mate I used to believe it years back, some come across massively convincing, I also know that some get their info from hack journos looking to fill newspapers and not actual insiders of the club. Funniest ITK **** up was about a year ago. Some of the so called respective tweeters were mentioning Lloris was looking for a move with Real a possible destination, the BBC also had an interview with him when he was doing some Spurs Foundation community work and asked if he was indeed looking for a move as their "sources" suggested - he dodged the questions as all footballers do. I **** you not, the following morning, Spurs announce he'd signed a new five year deal
The exclusion isn't really a surprise, even though every Spurs fan feels a 70% Toby is a better option than Dier or Dave at CB, Poch only wants 100% fit players and you can't blame him for that. His next decision is massive so I'm not surprised contract talks are taking ages/ being delayed. He's 29 next month and is one of the best CBs in Europe, he can get into any team's XI and I'm sure he knows it. I think his decision will be based on how much he believes in us/ Poch, does he feel his ambitions of winning things can be matched in the very near future? If so, I'd expect an announcement before the summer of a new deal, if the summer comes and he's not tied down, he's definitely being sold. FWIW, it wouldn't surprise me if he does go. We broke our transfer record on a player in his position knowing full well Dave has the potential to become one of the elite. I highly doubt Levy would've sanctioned that move if he was 100% certain Toby was sticking around for the long haul.
